Many players are being suckered in by Bodog's offer of a 25% bonus. In reality, it works out to only a 5% bonus, as follows: The bonus requires a 5x rollover. If I deposit 10,000 I will be required to give them 50,000 in action. The bonus on 10,00 is 2500. 2500 divided by 50,000 is only 5%.This is the way we should be figuring out the bonuses,as a percentage of the amount we are required to bet, not the amount we deposit.Suddenly, the 25% bonus is illusory,a far cry from reality.

most books advertise 50%

10% signup

20% referrals

20% re ups

I assure you that BoDog is not the Lone Ranger in misleading advertising.

This does not fall into the category of false advertising. They will actually give you 25% of your deposit. The misleading part is applying the bonus to deposit, instead of the amount you are required to bet in order to get the bonus.

I was immediately turned off by that rollover requirement at Bodog. If we have to give that much action, the bonus, in a way, becomes insignificant.

However, this is an excellent observation on your part. I would respect the book more if they lowered the bonus percentage and reduced the rollover requirement to 4x at the most.

Sportsbook.com and other sister sites has ALWAYS been 2.1 time rollover.

Sports.com gives you 5% on every deposit.

Amazing that I keep reading these post!!! BoDog is giving away 25% cash to get new customers and hopefully keep them for life, THEY ARE NOT DOING THIS TO MAKE YOU RICH OR TO BE YOUR FRIEND!!!!! Its 25% cash, do u think that they just want to hand you the money??? Roll it over 5 times and its yours, you roll it over by betting in their book and hopefully stay around, some people amaze me.

Now Jay Leno, you have a different point and I agree with you here, I hate the misleading advertising of 50% bonus, but BoDog is not misleading, they actually hand you 25% cash.

I got a letter from Heritage that said

"50 % Cash Bonus - No Rollover required. 50 % Cash Bonus. This is by Invitation Only. Biggest bonus offer ever by Heritage. Act by October 15 to get your 50% Cash bonus with no rollover required. "

When I called I was told their 50 % cash bonus with no rollover required was in fact a 10 % cash bonus with a 3 time roll over required and 30 days with consistent play throughout the 30 days before any withdrawal can be taken.

When I asked her about the false advertising, she tried to BS me by saying in this industry no rollover means 3 times.

exilarch,

using your logic, you could atack any book the has a rollover requirement. To say the bonus is really only a 5% bonus is nonesense. A 5x rollover on a 25% bonus, from abook that deals a 10 cent line in bases, is one of the most generous bonuses out there.

If you don't like taking bonuses thats fine. But don't accuse a book that gives a generous bonus, upfront about the rollover requirement and pays quickly, of being a bunch of scammers

i don't understand why so many people make a big deal about the rollover. if you are a gambler, you will easily make the requirements. players need to get back to the days where they found a shop and played with them over the long haul, instead of bonus whoring and bouncing from shop to shop.

Marc: you think you are getting a 25% bonus? You are not getting a damn thing, until you make bets totalling 50,000 on a 10K deposit.

exilarch,

5x rollover is nothing unusual. Some books require 10x, others 2x. But you won't get 25% with a 2x rollover at any book that has reliable payouts. The offer BoDog is making is quite generous, and before anyone calls me a shill, I hate the place because of their arrogance and lack of awareness of anything outside of the United States.

Still, I'm amazed at how many people simply expect to get something for nothing. Hello! McFly!! Anyone home!? You've got to give something to get something in this world. Didn't you know that?

I have zero sympathy for anyone who complains about a rollover requirement at an otherwise reliable book. Some people around here have legitimate beefs and others just like to whine and pout. It shouldn't take too long before it becomes clear which category this complaint belongs in.

Exilarch-

Very interesting approach, with the use of 50,000. However, consider this:

If you wager 50,000, then with a 4.5% holding percentage for the book, you can expect to lose $2250.

If you get back 25% of your $10,000, that is $2500.

Now, you would be up $250.
