I hope this finally puts an end to any future talks of McNabb ever being an MVP candidate again. He's the 3rd best QB on Philly. Many on the RX have always thought that the guy's overrated. I hope that his 2003 play has proven this to all.

I did not see the game but it sounds like it could be a very long year in Philly. However, the NFL is a fickle beast and everything can change on a dime, it seems to happen every year.

Troy Aikman took a lot of heat for his on air comments about McNabb last year. One of the comments Troy made was basically McNabb sucked as a pocket QB. He said, "Donovan is not an accurate thrower in the pocket".

If Staley carries the ball 5 times for 17 yards and Mcnabb attemps 46 passes every game the rest of the season the Eagles will go winless - the team is in a complete funk - but McNabb is their saving grace and Reid had better let him start making some plays - he also plays with the worst group of receivers in the league.

Those receivers were wide open on Monday night but McNabb for some reason would do a dump off pass for a three yard gain when the play called for deep throw.

UGH here we go again. 2 weeks into the season and everyone condemns our quarterback.

I will admit Donovan had his worst game as a QB in quite some time. He is the leader of this football team regardless and Koy and AJ both know it.

McNabb is not overrated. In fact for the last few years he has carried this team on many occasions and without his running and throwing ability this team doesn't get the pportunities it has had including two appearances in the NFC championship game.

No way would the Eagles have such optimistic expectations if Donovan was not the starting quarterback. Football is a team game and there are a lot of other problems besides Donovan which will hurt this team. This same QB had the team scoring 30-40 points per game last year and the year before (and the year before that) and no one cried foul. He has 2 bad games (and his supporting cast has been no better) and people are losing their minds.

Dono will be fine...the offense will be fine. GO EAGLES!

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

I think McNabb will step it up ...

the Eagles are a very talented team & I believe they will turn it around and make a run for the playoffs.

This bye week is just what the Dr. ordered for Philly.

Throw deep on Monday night? By the time McNabb took three steps back the entire Buc line was on his ass. And the dump off to the back or TE is the cover 2 defense the Bucs play to perfection - you can have those plays all day but you can have nothing deep against the Bucs.

Everyone's got this team buried already. Unreal. Lets see if they can settle down with the bye and pull their shit together. Its too soon to dismiss their legitimacy. Time will tell - not two weeks.

Mc Nabb did suck tonight, but it's hard to succeed without any other offensive playmakers. I don't consider Staley a legitimate starter, and the WRs are the worst crew in the league.

I agree with Chuck. Also every year McNabb has one of the lowest avg yards/pass numbers in the league. When Mcnabb was out last year Philly was 5-1. They have a great offensive line and McNabb should take the blame for this horrible start.

I totlly disagree. They looked much better w/o McNabb last year. He makes one great play with his legs but makes two bad ones by either not seeing open recs, holding on to the ball too long creating a fumble and throwing short way too often.

I agree McNabb has looked horrible. I have no idea what it is but I think he will rebound.

He has the lowest yards per completion for a reason...it's the way Andy likes to run the offense with him in there. Definately nothing new there. The Eagles don't win by throwing the ball all the time. In fact that's what's killed them in the past. The offense is designed to run the ball and to throw short passes...I can count the number of passing plays over 20 yards in the playbook on one hand.

I'm more concerned about the defensive injuries, the poor special teams (other than Akers who is the best kicker in the NFL) and the play calling than McNabb. If they run the ball more they win bottom line. I know this coaching staff is giving up on the gameplan too early because they are afraid the defense is too banged up to bail them out but they have to stick with what's worked the last few years.

RUN the ball Andy. Like Raiders said we have a great offensive line and it's wasted when the Eagles try to throw on every down. McNabb needs to run more too. He is deadly when he scrambles.

It's true that he should run more. McNabb has it in his head that he wants to be known as a passer rather than a runner and passes up some great running opportunities. I just feel like he's a great runner but less than avg passer that makes poor decisions.

And I'm not denying they looked great with Detmer and Feely in there...you're absolutely right. The running game was a big reason those guys looked so good too. But Detmer and Feely would be in the same situation. There were as many dropped balls as there were misfires today. I'm not making excuses for him but this isn't just his fault. There was a LOT of piss poor pass blocking by this offensive line today. If the Eagles just get back to what they do best RUNNING THE BALL AND SHORT SCREENS AND CROSSING ROUTES they will win ball games. Donovan deserves some of the blame but definately not all of it.

I`m not sure about McNabb @ times he looks awful. We have the same situation here in MN. Culpepper is feast or famine. Last nite was a perfect example we should have beaten Da Bears by 25. But due to his indecision, fumbling, and poor play calling from Tice we kept that sorry bunch in the game until the last 5 mins. We have 1 potential Hall of Famer @ WR, and 2 other good ones, and a very good TE. But at times Daunte stands back there and looks like it`s all a big mystery to him. He & McNabb are part of the new group of "athletes" coming into the league, being stuffed into the roll of QB. Of course they all can run & throw the ball 70 yds. But to my mind the #1 job of a great QB is game management & decision making. The excuse that Randy is double teamed is BS. He is but so what, so was Rice, Clayton & Duper, Jefferson, but the great ones found a way to get it done!!! Oh & Oren you should try to conceal your latent tendencies better, if you think she looks like a man, you may have a problem.

Vick will be the same as McNab in the future. You cannot win playing their style and they are horrible passers.
