Casinos 2020 A.D: Debit cards, Smart cards, interactive kiosks are common thing in all Casinos in the future. Nearly 8 out of 10 senior casino executives surveyed for the American Gaming Association's first Future Watch survey believe technology will totally or significantly change the casino floor in the next 15 years. All the survey

respondents said slot machines would become 100 percent cashless.

Some glimpses of the crystal ball -

·Casino operators are also yielding the benefits of technology and Internet. They can scrap an under performing game and download a new casino game from the vendor into the hundreds of physical slots through a wireless intranet link all in minutes - eliminating the need to replace the physical unit.

·Gamblers will play through a bank card, in which wins and losses will be tallied through a checking or savings account, or a smart card, in which gamblers deposit

funds that are downloaded onto a magnetic-stripe card.

·Slot machines soon could function like videogame devices that remember where a player last left off in his quest to attain a certain point or reward level. Bonuses, or extra games within the slot machines, will become more personalized and integrated into the primary slot game.

·Land-based gaming industry will become more like Internet gaming operations. She said online casinos innovate faster because they're software-based, allowing them to generate detailed player transaction histories, create virtual communities of players and communicate with the gamblers.

·Slot machines will become more flexible, with one unit offering gamblers a variety of denominations and games at the touch of a button.

·Player-tracking technology - using data gleaned through frequent-gambler cards - will allow casinos to monitor a patron's every transaction in the casino hotel, from wagers at the slot machine to the purchase of show tickets to hotel reservations.

·Biometric security online and offline will be commonplace.

The Casinos will follow the market technology trends and not vice versa say the experts. Bruce Rowe, of Renaissance Casino Solutions says, ‘The casino floor will mimic technology found outside the market. The casino industry lives on trickle-down technology'.@@

Dante,
Turning Stone Casino in upstate Oneida County, NY already have cashless slotmachines! You have to go to the cashier window, get a card fund it and play with the card, when done go back to the window and cash it in if you like!

Slots have definitely gone coinless at most joints, and players club mentality has taken over......

they tried to go 'dealerless' and automate poker dealing but that didn't go over well (poker pro)...

See much less real blackjack and more carnival games and more rip offs from real 3-2 BJ.... Also less dice as it's labor intensive and dying a bit, some casino's just have it on lockdown during the slow times....

Also have seen more expansion, which has hurt AC and LV much... more expansion coming in OHIO, PENN, NY, ILL and MD just to mention a few.. major expansion in FLA since this thread....

Many places In the future I can see a scaled back boutique type casino in area where it's saturated (just a few tables (no dice) and a bunch of slots)....

Will bump in 10 years and see where we are at.....

I'd say -450 that Dante won't miss a bash until 2020 (as long as he isn't abducted by aliens) :)

Definitely!!! attend a bash!!! kids are 5 and 2 -- we do it all on our own here.... Brought the little one when he was almost 2 (with a nanny), may have to leave wifey behind... but after she has attended one of these and partied with these guys - she may not let me.
