Hi acw

I've noticed some of your post about bookies who have Asian Handicap betting. You seem to have great insight on the subject /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Therefore I have a question for you (or any other with some usefull info):

I've noticed a few "new" Asian bookies on the market, but I don't know anything about them. Since you're from Hong Kong you might know more. Which of the following bookmakers would you recomend?

Pointbet
JPhan
Sport Online Bookie

Please both consider safety, odds etc. Thanks in advance! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Best Regards

First time I hear about Sport Online Bookie and Pointbet. I could not tell you anything about them. I will have a look now. In the past I would monitor those new bookies and as soon as I could get them on a bad line, I would open an account with them, deposit some US$1000, try to play it up to US$5000 and ask them for a payout. It never ever happened that I did get paid in the so promised two or three days. There is always something. Even though I have photocopies of the main page of my passport and the front and back of my credit cards ready, it has never ever happened that I did get paid without sending at least 5 emails and make a few phone calls. I just cannot believe it. Maybe I am very dumb or I must be naïve believing that they like paying as much as I do. My plan was always to start increasing my bet size the moment payments would go smooth. The only ones that passed the test without too much trouble have so far been Macauslot and Ladbrokes. These days William Hill does seem to be ok too. All others failed. Jphan is in the industry for quite some time. I never heard anything bad about them, but they are NOT legal. I would however feel more comfortable them holding funds of me than all the Caribbean cowboys.

I think I'll only sign up with Jphan. I don't know what you mean by "Caribbean cowboys" though: This is copied from the Pointbet website:

Pointbet.Com is part of Pointbet International Limited, the betting and gaming division of Riveira Group, a privately owned group with more than 15 years of experience on offline market based in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Maybe youknow the Riveira Group? Sport Online Bookie operates from the Republic of Nauru. Again thank you for your reply /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Cowboys are those guys who years ago went to a country what is now called the USA to look for something new. Since internet gambling is forbidden in the USA, you now have a group of guys who go to the Caribbean to experiment with internet gambling looking for something new too.

I just had a closer look at Pointbet and Sport Online Bookie. Forget about their licenses, etc. They are like Jphan NOT legal. Pointbet even shamelessly admits that their customer support is in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ido will tell you not to play with them and that it is better to get paid 20% less playing with him. Indonesian bookies are the biggest in the world and generally are honourable, BUT though they may be honourable themselves, it is true what Ido says, their clients may not and if one of those clients is a so called rich important person (son of a former president) who enforces credit from them, looses and does not pay, you as a client may loose too.

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I will give these guys a try. I will keep you updated with my experiences.

Thanks again acw. You seem to know what you're talking about! I'm looking forward to hear from you when you've found out more /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif In the meantime I'll try out Jphan and of course still use my "old" Asian Handicap bookies, Victor Chandler and Sportingbet.

Best Regards

Guys,

Please do yourselves a favour and stick to soccer wagering with your illegal chinese bookmakers who only make money because they deal to a bunch of degenerates.

I have monitored the NBA lines at macau and they don't move for a good hour or 2 after Billy and his crew have whacked the games. And if you don't know what that means, don't bother asking.

I am not saying Macau does not pay, but don't tell me a book like CRIS or WWTS is Cowboy in its bookmaking style. These guys know how to book, period.

If you gamblers from the far east are as bad at sports gambling as you are at blackjack, its no wonder the books down there are cash cows.

I don't know where you're going with this post... We're not talking about NBA lines but about Asian Handicap betting. And if you don't know what that means, don't bother asking.

In case you didn't notice, this site concerns sportsbetting on primarily north american type sports so you might consider taking your Asian handicapping discussion to, Oh I don't know, an Asian handicapping board? /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

With all due respect - I do not see what you are talking about, Pancho.

Furthermore, if you're not interested in the thread, you can simply ignore it. The topic is exactly right for this forum. The RX is not just a North American forum, for your information.

That's real rich, Pancho. So explain why only Asian syndicates have the wherewithal to stop matches in progress in the Premier League?

Cut the racist BS.

If thats what you got from my post, then you have a problem.

I asked the fellow to explain what he meant by calling caribbean bookmakers cowboys. He still hasn't explained it. It sounds like he is implying they are irresponsible.

I don't know anything about your Asian syndicates stopping matches, and frankly, don't care. And judging from the number of posters participating in this topic, no one else cares either. No one said you couldn't post here if you didn't want to, it just might get you more responses if you were to take it to a board that discusses soccer.

I do know about how chinese people play blackjack as I have seen it hundreds of times, they suck.

If you think thats racist, sorry, write a letter to your congressman or something.

This thread reminds me of a story I saw about Asians complaining about a T-shirt that has two shifty-eyed Asians and the Caption:

"Two Wongs can make it white"

I want that T-Shirt. Especially now that it has been taken off the market. I'll wear it into a Chinese restaurant.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

Thank you Spearmaster. You're right about that the RX isn't just a North American forum - and not just a forum concerning North American sports. I find a lot of great picks for the NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAA, MLB from great cappers like Theerodfather, Northern Ice, Occamsrazor, Dnuggets, MasterTX, Henhouse etc. and I try do my part in the "other sports" forum with my daily European football-picks.

I started this thread because I was seeking advice from acw about Asian Handicap bookies. Well, I guess the subject title says it all? Therefore I don't understand why a rather unambiguous subject title attracts morons like Pancho and Dell. There's just too much bashing going on in too many threads all over the board. Sad, really. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Thanks again Spearmaster & acw for your constructive replies /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ok, so he did say cowboys, I didn't see that.

Nevertheless, I have seen a lot of stupid blackjack players who are NOT Asian. In fact, a GREAT deal more - so your logic is twisted. Asians are no worse at playing blackjack than anyone else. However, they do also believe more in luck and fate.

If you watched closely enough, you'd see that their decision depends on "gut feelings" as opposed to what the dealer's upcard is and what their own cards show. They might hit 15 one hand and stand the next.

Stupid blackjack players ALWAYS stand on 15 and 16. And none of the people who I have seen that fit this category are Asian.

As for moving lines, why the hell would a book, who stands little to no chance of being affected by a BW play, move their lines just because of BW? Talk about stupid logic. That's like going to your local McDonalds and finding that the cost of a Big Mac has been raised because of mad cow disease in the UK.

Ido you crack me up.

You are not the leaders in the Far East, you guys are small time.

Limits like $3000 etc is phucking peanuts, you are out of your league mate when trying to compare yourselfs with companys such as VCI, sportingbet, and the rest of asian bookies themselves. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
