Safe statement?

To many, Money is the lifeblood. The easiest way to acquire the lifeblood seems to many to be by gambling.

Mathematically, it is clear that a gambler may win (or lose) a large sum of money if he or she can stop gambling after a win or a loss. But if he or she gambles on, no matter what win or loss, the gambler loses the money – the gambler thus covers the casino's expenses and ensures its profit.

Though the Declaration of Independence proclaimed the pursuit of happiness one of man's inalienable rights, gambling, as well as narcotics, prostitution, pornography and even alcohol were banned during certain periods of U.S. history. The tacit explanation is that man's will cannot cope with certain vices – they are stronger than man's will and man acts against or outside his will.

general, i'd say that is true for the most part. rare is the man who can keep emotions in check, exercise discipline and have enough good info to make a net profit. this site has turned me into one of those guys.

before i found this place i was pissing in the wind and losing like everyone else. didn't know about reduced juice, didn't care about discipline or see much value in line shopping.

kenny rogers said it I believe "You got to know when to fold up" know when to walk away and know when to run"

I believe if you CHASE you lose just my opinion, You just see that you lost your Hurricane bet and they did not cover...you really do not like anything but you want to TRY TO GET IT BACK. so you chase by doubling up on the next fav you see...THIS is not going to win any money whether it be small or big time gamblers

More plays you make you will lose eventually, 100% fact.

You can beat a game but not the games.

I stick to just gambling on the NFL. Period. We have a casino about 45 minutes from here and I haven't been there in over five years.

What I have noticed also is you have to stick to the pro sports only and if betting college follow no more than 2 conferences because there are too many teams to keep up with.

Winter time pick one sport only to play whether it is NBA Baskets, College Hoops or The NHL, do not bet all three because you will lose.

Summer bases only of course

Fall pick college (2 conferences and the pros only.

YOU CANNOT WIN AT GAMBLING OVER THE VERY VERY LONG HAUL, AND WHEN I SAY LONG HAUL, I MEAN A LIFETIME. SURE PEOPLE CAN WIN OVER 1 TO 6 YRS, BUT THE VIG WILL CATCH UP TO YOU NO MATTER WHAT. YOU ARE NOT ANY DIFFERENT THAN ANYONE ELSE. 99.3% OF GAMBLERS GO BROKE, THIS IS A KNOWN FACT.

THE ONLY WINNERS IN GAMBLING ARE FEW THAT DO THIS.

SHOP FOR LINES
HAVE NUMEROUS BOOKS
HAVE A DECENT SIZED BANKROLL AND PLAY WITHIN THEIR MEANS BY NOT CHASING
ONLY BET BAD NUMBERS (OFF NUMBERS)
DONT BET FOR THE SAKE OF BETTING (IOW, JUST BEC MON NIGHT FOOTBALL IS STARTING IN 3 MIN, NO NEED TO BET IT IF YOU GET NO GOOD VALUE ON GAME)

___
IF ANYONE WAS TO FOLLOW ALL THIS, AND MOST IMPORTANT, DON'T GET GREEDY AND DON'T BET BIGGER THAN WHAT YOU SHOULD BE PLAYING (1% OF YOUR BANKROLL PER GAME). AND PLAY ONLY WEAK NUMBERS, AND TRY TO GRAB A BONUS HERE AND THERE TO CUT DOWN ON YOUR LOSSES (IT ADDS UP BOYS) THEN I JUST DON'T SEE HOW YOU CANNOT BE A WINNER LIFETIME. YOU WILL BE A 75-1 FAVORITE TO BE A LIFETIME WINNER WHEN IT'S ALL SAID AND DONE..

EXCELLENT POINT SLIMMY..

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE STAYED HOME ALL DAY LIKE LOSERS SWEATING OUT OUR 18 GAMES ON SATURDAY, AND 17 GAMES ON SUNDAY IN BASEBALL AND NFL AND COLLEGE, AND HAVING HEARTBREAKERS, BAD BEATS, LUCKY WINS, LAST SECOND TOUCHDOWNS, LAST SECOND INTERCEPTIONS, NOT LEAVING THE HOUSE FOR 48 HRS, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT YOU HAVE JUST BROKE EVEN. THEN YOU FEEL LIKE A LOSER BECAUSE YOU JUST WASTED 48 HRS NOT LEAVING YOUR HOUSE, WASTED 2 GORGEOUS SUNNY DAYS, DIDN'T GET ANY FRESH AIR, DID NOT GET ANY EXERCISE, AND NOT SEEING THE WORLD AND SOCIALIZING WITH PEOPLE AND SEEING US GETTING OLDER WITH EACH DAY AND WASTING IT WITH THIS CRAPPY GAMBLING, WHEN IN REALITY, WE REALLY DONT HAVE TO BE THERE, AS THE RESULTS WILL STILL BE THE SAME, BUT WE CHOOSE TO BECAUSE WE ARE ALL SICK INDIVIDUALS.

Great post sg, you are so right about the bonuses, they add up!

SLIM, if you play it right and follow the rules, you know no matter what happens you'll win 54-57% of your plays. I try not to watch the games 90% of the time and I dont care. I cant control what happens when the games start. I can only try to do my best and get the right numbers, if I can do that I have done my job!

I find there is nothing better than logging on after a game is over and seeing what the score was, if it wins, I read the whole box score and get all excited, if it looses, I hit the shut down button and get it over with

Watching a game you bet on is horrible. I got a cold once, Vikings-Buccs bout 3 years ago, the game Shaun King came on and won. I kid u not, every time Minnesota *whom I bet on* had the ball, my temperature was normal but as soon as TB had the ball it would really drop and Id end up cold for the entire drive....

Needless to say, my body temp went up and down bout 23 times that game and I got a horrible cold. And I mean horrible. I had to take a week off from work, when I got to work a week later, everyone was laughing their asses off cause they knew what had happened.

I agree 100%. I used to gamble just to gamble. Just to get something on a game, to watch it, for whatever reasons. Most of the time I would lose my hard earned money from the previous days wins just because I wanted to play a game.
Now I am much more selective, although harder, it sure has paid off for me.

I live 500% healthier as a professional gambler.

1. Exercise ANYTIME I want.
2. Eat anytime and anything I choose.
3. Enjoy what I am doing.
4. Not spending time at a job with people I would care not to associate with.
5. Rewarding

____

Let's go over each one now..

#1- Very very true. I can go for a jog right now, or go to the gym during the day, whereas if i worked, I'd have to make my schedule around it.

#2- This might be the bad part as we gamblers tend to eat bad. We have so much free time, that we order in pizza, and munch on chips, eat donuts from the box, and eat very bad. But the problem is, for the majority of gamblers, and the majority of my life too, I hardly exercised because when you gamble, you get very lazy and you get used to lying on the couch watching sports, and you become out of shape.

#3- Nothing beats it. And this is a great job for a lazy bum like me. Very challenging and fun job.

#4- Very true.

#5- Yes, it can be rewarding..

________

Let me add a few here. You have no boss to tell you what to do, like saying, I want this done by 5pm. You don't have to ask for permission to use the bathroom. You don't have anyone yelling at you at why you are late from break, or why you are 10 min late coming into work. You can sleep when you want, go out when you want, come home when you want. You don't have to wake up early, you can sleep in if you want. If you don't want to work on a specific day, you don't have to. You are your own boss. You can work whenever you want, meaning, if you want to work only from 3 till 4 and take rest of day off, you can. You don't have to be here if you dont want. You can go on vacation whenever you want, and you can even work from any city in the world you are, all you need is a computer for 1 hr and your passwords, so you can actually still make money wherever you are, and not lose a beat. You don't have to wake up at 6 am, shower, shave, shovel your driveway and go battle traffic in the -39 degree blowing snow. Your office is your own living room in front of your tv in the comfort of your own home. And if you have kids and a wife, you can spend more time with them as you'd be home all day with them spending quality time.

I can be here forever telling you all that nothing beats this lifestyle.. NOTHING.

Let's not pretend it's all roses here...the drawbacks:

(a) You have to lie when people ask you what you do for a living
(b) Professional gamblers spend their life siphoning money out of a meaningless cash flow system produce nothing useful for anyone but themselves
(c) You'll look back when you're 65 and think "What the hell have I done with my life?" and regret that you've led an existence devoid of any meaning
