What is a co-related parlay????

Just wondered what this would mean......
We do not accept co-related parlays. If you have any questions as to whether or not a parlay is co-related, please call and ask a betting supervisor. Be aware that if you make a parlay that is co-related, the bet will not be honored.

Got this message from first fidelity...dont remember seeing it in the past. Can someone explain what a co-related parlay refers to??

Not exactly sure but my guess would be something like

Virginia Tech to score first & Wirginia Tech -20.

Why dont they just fix the software so it wont accept these co-related parlays ? This gives them way too much leeway. They could declare many plays co -related.

You are referring to correlated parlays....multiple plays on the same game.

side & total on the same game, quarter\half\game plays on a team and or side, etc.

Most places do not allow this, but I believe that a very few do.

Parlays like the total over in the first half to the total over for the game is an example of a correlated parlay. If one half of the parlay (1st half total over) gets there, the second half is more than likely to get there also.

side+total are marginally correlated. Side+spread definitely are.

another correlation i like in a parlay is a team to win the game and to win the series. Some places used to allow this but when you win they fix it pretty quick.

Last year there was a celebrated thread regarding correlated parlays. Some poster made a killing on correlated parlays and the book was refusing to pay the winning bettor.I do not remember the details.

I WON over $4,500 with the SF 49ERS 12 or 13 DIFFERENT WAYS/PROPS OVER DENVER IN the '91 Super Bowl...all the same bet basically..crushed a local..got paid..lost the out via encouragement to take it elsewhere..LOL!

Side, total, minus for all quarters, halves, Montana, Rice,etc..

Also had UNLV throw in a garbage 3 at the buzzer to backdoor a loss to Shaq and LSU in the AM for $300..it was beautiful Super Sunday!

Parlays that give the player a slight advantage. In baseball, LAD Under 7 to LAD +1.5. Hockey, Devils Under 4.5 to Devils +1.5. Football, Fresno St Under 60 to Fresno St +21. Same goes with first halves.

Best example of a correlated parlay I know...

1st half side and total with game side and total: 1st half Wash
1st half over
game wash
game over

If Wash blows out the opponent in the first half then the true odds of the bet are less than 10-1 which is what the books pay on a 4 teamer. Any parlay where there are interelated occurences would be correlated.

The best example I know of is the spread parlayed to the moneyline. If a team covers the spread they MUST cover the moneyline.
