"Who says Scott doesnt have a big heart...

Well last night I was rolling around and this guy comes up to me begging for money. He was in a wheel chair sporting the BHB.com hat. I was thinking to myself how the hell did he get one of those. So I come into work today and I ask Justin, How does a man have a BHB hat. It turns out a few months back, Scott and Justin were rolling around in there ride when a man in a wheel chair came up to them begging for money. Fortunately they had a few colones on them, but they went one step further. They gave him a Corona and a Beverly Hills Bookie.com hat. I am happy to inform everyone that that hat is being sported by the same guy in San Jose months later. That proves BHB has a dedicated impact on the community here in Costa Rica.

Just for the record I gave him change too.

Good stuff Scott.

Sean,
Don't call the guy a bum, it's derogatory - you don't know why his life is the way it is.

Valid point Lander.

Sean - good job guys. What comes around goes around. We are all rich beyond what we realize. What do you think that man in the wheelchair would give to walk along the shore line of those beautiful CR beaches.....

Exactly....I feel for these unfortunate people sometimes. It was a part of San Jose we didn't usually go, so we decided to hook the guy up. You should've seen him, at the time he seemed to be the happiest man alive

. We gave him some money, a Corona and a BHB hat. He thanked us over and over. I haven't been down to that same spot in a long time. I couldn't believe it when Sean told me about this.

My parents go down to the Dominican Republic every year. Each time they go, they pack up 3 or 4 garbage bags full of old clothes / shoes to give to the locals in Sosua.

Well, each year like clockwork, Air Canada charged them the maximum possible fee (since the bags full of clothes took their allotted weight for luggage over the limit). Even a letter from my father to the President of Air Canada couldn't change this.

Eventually, my parents switched to Air Transat (a much smaller, charter airline). After explaining their situation, Air Transat let them take these bags of clothes for free. It's no wonder that Air Canada has deteriorated to the point it's at now.

Halifax, Your parents are awesome and that is a great idea! I may be headed that way for a winter surf and you can tell your parents that I will follow suit! Thanks again for the tip!

Angelle, you make it sound like we had girl baby tees in our truck to give out to females we pass by on the road.

We didn't have any shirts on us or we would have.
Halifax, that's awesome man. My parents do the same thing when they go to Puerto Rico every year. I don't know if they get charged for taking extra luggage though. If my step-mom could, she would take all the stray cats and dogs back home to her house. She's crazy about animals.

Halifax - Props to your parents and Air Transat! I will see if they are going where I am trying to get in the future.

Justin, you and Sean are good guys down there. Good deeds normally come back 10 fold it seems when I do one. That's not why I do it but it just seems that way.

Play it forward.

Thanks Patrick and everyone else. I didnt really think of it at the time, like we're actually doing a real good deed. But, you said it best before....."We are all rich beyond what we realize." Any little thing can help someone less fortunate.
BTW, good movie - Pay It Forward.
