Louisville does it last night and its a hot topic. If i were a coach, I would play to score every series, no matter the game score. It's good practice. And, I would expect other teams to do as well.

I personally don't have a problem with it.

However, one of the biggest parts of coaching is managing human factors and emotions.

If you run up the score vs your rival and it pisses off their team to the point where they come back and beat you next time, that doesn't make them a bunch of pussies, it makes you a bad coach for firing up the rival team.

So my theory is run up the score when it makes sense, like if a crazy BCS computer is determining your fate. If you pull it in the NFL, though, and it pisses off 25 of 30 coaches around the league, then it was probably a poor decision as everyone will be out for your head every week.

Once again, as a fan, its the opposite...if I see my team sitting on the ball I might like them LESS, I want to see blowouts when I'm cheering for the home team :)

In college ball it is to be expected, after all the subs are playing.they practice all week long against the starters. They are 19 year old kids, the coach should let them show what they can do..it's not like there getting paid, well not the 2nd string anyway.

I would never teach one to lay down in a game. Play to win, play to score. Explain why others may not like, but keep playing. 110% for 60 mins.

If I were a coach, I would hope the oppossing coach would respect whatever my team did, without breaking any rules. Nothing more pitiful than a coach crying like a baby about the score being run up on him. That really upsets me.

In soccer, teams try to score more for the goal difference. But there are always limits. No one ever heard of Australia vrs. some small island in oceania. Australia scored 31 on them

. In football that could be normal to see. But in soccer that is just wrong.
