Hey guys I cannot stand to lose period and I want no one to take my money and take it personally. If I bet three games 20x and go 1-2 in the early games I bet more in the second tier of games and then if in the hole like $300 I then for the 6:00PM games and early evening games am betting triple my amout to get out or even. If I am barreled in and there are always some west coast stuff I start taking big shots with parlays to get out. I know this is risky but lots of times I do bail out late and start fresh the next day. My problem is I cannot except losing and want my money back. I have a problem just taking my loses and starting fresh the next day. Lots of nights are marathons to get even. Do any of you guys bet like me, around here it is accepted and we are considered shot takers (betting wise and kind of like heros.

Good Luck

You are right on track. I recommend all players follow your lead. If you are down going into Monday night and have to meet the man on Tuesday, here is a sure fire way to get out of the hole:

I call it the "four-way-special", really works well if you take the favorite and over (over cause you like to see a lot of action).

1. big bet on the side
2. big bet on the over
3. 2-team teaser favorite and over
4. 2-team parlay favorite and over

This is a guaranteed formula. Almost foolproof.

That's funny Rail, who says he doesn't have a sense of humor. I had a lawn service in high school and I owed so much money to my local I did his yards in return to get even, of course this was 20 years ago.

Hoping it rains so I don't have to cut it today, I'm still paying off.

You were underpaid,

remember the story of the BM with the wad in his chest pocket that bent over to see what was wrong with his mower, and POOF, looked like a champions parade there was so much confetti?

Not only I chase, that's how I usually start out since most of my deposits are overdrafts.

If you have an edge you have no reason to chase.

I recently went 7 from 21 in tennis, by the end of that stretch I was betting half the units I was at the start.

My luck turned in the Long Island event and by the start of the US Open I was on 0.75 units. I went 15 wins from 17 in round 1 on average odds of -110 and went to full units again and have not looked back since. Had a bit of a wobble when Bjorkman knocked out Kucera but that has been my only losing day in about the last 15.

If you are confident you have a long term edge in any sport then chasing is not for you. Just reduce your risks, eliminate some of the riskier bets you get into in good runs, and wait for your edge to do the rest.

If you don't have an edge your staking methods won't make any difference in the long run.

never chase. ever. this is how you take yourself out of the game. I've seen many of my buddies keep chasing util they were broke and shut out of betting.

If you're a decent capper, you know things will go your way eventually. If you practice good money management, you should never be in a position where you need to chase. If you're neither of the above, you should give up now and take up another hobby/career...

I bet flat units on a 1-3 spread. MOstly 1 unit, occasionally 2, and very rarely 3. I've found that the game you are the most confident on will often lose...
