I wish I new what loval is?? I called my cable provider (RoadRunner from Time Warner cable) and there was a pre-recorded message indicating that certain sites could not be accessed (MSN, hotmail, yahoo). I dont know shit about computers. I'm just happy its not only me.

CNN) -- Intermittent problems kept some users of Microsoft's popular MSN and Hotmail Web sites from accessing their accounts Tuesday.

"MSN Hotmail experienced limited technical difficulties affecting a small set of accounts," Microsoft said in a statement. "We apologize for the temporary service disruption and any inconvenience this may have caused a portion of our customers."

The cause of the outage was being investigated.

"Our information indicates that the majority of customers were unaffected by this disruption," the statement from Microsoft said. "We take any service outage very seriously and work to resolve all issues as rapidly as possible."

A spokeswoman for Keynote Systems, which tracks the performance of Internet backbones from the 25 largest U.S. metropolitan areas, said the company had not detected any major disruptions to MSN's service.

On its corporate site, MSN says it attracts more than 350 million unique users around the world per month.

sqrchris:

You're correct it is Road runner. I use RR and couldn't log on all frigging day.

One could assume that some massive worm got into the RR system and targeted msft.

Msft in turn, blocked out all access to msft sites ( hotmail & messenger ) from RR customers.

for the record - this is one more reason i am trying to move away from hotmail to yahoo. hotmail ALWAYS seems to have these problems. also - at yahoo you get a 4k box - or 2 times as big as hotmail. and yahoo almost never has problems going down. also - hotmail's spam control - SUCKS! i log on and find 50 new e-mails in my inbox - of which at least 48 are spams. and this is in addition to the 100+ spams in my junk mail box. yahoo is much better at spam control!

***for the record - come november a new regulation goes into effect that now allows you to KEEP your cell phone number if/when you change cell phone companies. i have verizon now - but when this goes into effect - maybe i will switch. i have a friend who works for verizon and some time ago he got me a really cool number. the last 4 digits of my cell phone is my first name - which really helps when i give it out. and as you can imagine i don't want to give up this number - and in november....

Winkyduck, what's your cell phone number? (310) 555-WINK?
I'm surprised you weren't the first to comment on the STARDUST INVITATIONAL thread.
