They may be the LAST to post lines of any sorts... readers of this forums SHOULD KNOW that and I dont think BoDog will change.

Frank, I wish I knew that before I signed up, I understand not putting them up Sunday night or even Monday, but Tuesday afternoon, they should be up. Normally its not a problem but I am traveling this week and wont have a computer for 7 days, would like to bet before I go, Phone betting is torture now-a-days unless you are calling Grande!

Chips, why complain?

If you don't like ANY books policy, bet elsewhere!

Joey, this is a posting forum, that BoDOg advetises at, I figured that they would want to hear what the players want, you call it complaining, I call it constructive criticsm. I didnt know this before I signed up, I just assumed that everyone would have lines by Tuesday afternoon, I like the book so far, just voicing my opion!

As a player, would love to see them put up the lines earlier too.....even for small limits. Although this is a negative to deal with when playing there, I feel that the positives greatly make up for it.

PS- 25% bonus and true dime lines for starters!

I believe they might have lines up Sunday morning. But fear of late "sharp" betting might keep them from posting lines. Why not wait until next week so they can get a feel for how the teams are playing before posting lines. Let all the other books take the risk.

Joey, maybe you havent read any of my post, this is a posting forum where BoDog advertises, dont you think they would want to know what the customers want??? I also said that I like this book so far at least 3 times, just giving them some advice, is there a problem with that??

Chips, sure they would want to hear about it.

Why not just pick up a phone and call them with your suggestion? Afterall, it's a local call for you.

Response from Bodog:

Nothing you guys don't already know I am sure-

We post lines late on purpose. The earlier a line is posted, the more it
moves, and the more it moves, the more risk for the House. By posting lines
late, we reduce risk and also cut down on syndicate wagering, both of which
strengthen our bottom line and allow us to safely offer the high bonuses
that we do.

We realize that this costs us some business, but as 90%+ of football action
comes in the 48 hours before kickoff and over 75% of baseball/basketball
betting in the last couple of hours before a game starts, we feel the
tradeoff is a good one. I readily admit that if getting early lines is a
key factor in a bettor's choice of a book, there are a lot of better spots
out there. However, if you want a reliable shop with great Customer Service
and an aggressive bonus offer, we are the book for you.

Thanks,
Rob

If this is true, Bodog, then why dont you wait until Friday to post your lines, then your money will be safe. My local bookmaker used to do that.

Rob, thanks for the response, its good to see a book answer in these forums. I used to think the same way you did about lines moving to far, or syndicate betting early in the week, but that is completely false. Except for Sunday night openers and maybe some moves on Monday, about 90% of syndicate money comes in on game day and many times its againsts the steam from early in the week, limits are higher in almost all shops on gameday and also late info becomes a factor, by opening up later than other books, you arent really avoidint the true steam which comes on gameday, take care and I look forward to the rest of the football season at BoDog!

Angelle:

Why don't you suggest to B Dog to wait until 7:30 AM Pacific Sunday to post their morning lines, that way they could be "real safe" and wouldn't need a line manager.
