That's the name of the play put on stage by the Little Theater Group, down here in Escazu, Costa Rica.
This play was originally put on stage off-broadway over a decade ago and one of the main characters, Tony, is brought to life by our very own Judge Wapner, who actually had the same part in the original play; this time also sharing the stage with 2 more characters, one of them personified by Lisa, Judge's wife.
The plot is very simple yet a work of histrionic virtuosos, Tony (Judge) "drops in on" a Italian capo (Frank) at his house, getting to know Julie (Lisa), Frank's wife, in the process. Tony pretends to be the "friend of a friend" looking for a job, but he's really looking to learn more about Frank and his ways, since he is in reality an actor who will play as Frank in a new movie about his life. The most unexpected situations surge and personally, I couldn't stop laughing.
Very simple in structure the play is brought to life resorting to a black box stage. From there on, it's all about the talent of the 3 actors.
A fresh, hilarious and original high energy journey, highlighted by inspired acting from a superb cast. An exhilarated comedy with witty dialogues, worth of being enjoyed time after time. Judge Wapner carries the movie, with a performance so casual that you only realize later how deep it goes.
I'd like to thank Judge for having invited us. Those laughs came at a time when I could use them the most, blood.
And I wanted to share this with my fellow posters. As Judge said it's always good to take a little time for culture, slobs.
