Harrington, its not just you. The same books that are giving away 20% are also paying the fees to get the money (10% avg.) and a 10 to 15 % reload bonus on top of the initial 30% they gave away. I'm sorry but for all the bonus lovers out there this is a recipe for disaster and the books THP% of 4.5% cannot overcome these perks.
Simply because they know internet wagering has exploded, and football is the key time of year for most bettors, and with so many books competing with each other, it's about the only way for some of them to draw interest to their book.
In the past bonuses were greater. Seems many books are offering a little better bonus for football promotions, but many are just using the same bonus they offered throughout the year. I think most of the shakeout in books has occured. Most of the shady books have been exposed by now and no one plays there anymore.
