Dante, I think it goes beyond that, if a book has the opportunity to help out a customer in any way they can, I think they should. Of course this depends on how good you have the situation under control, if you dont it can really get out of hand. For example. Say a customer has sent in over 50 western unions (random number) and on x day theyd like to bet but for some reason cant get to the WU office and he wants to bet what he regularly likes to bet, heck, why not, go ahead, take his bets and hope he sends it later on. You dont do it always and with not many customers but if one has proven their loyalty to the book, sure why not, its just a little courtesy and it can go a long way.
Another example is, when betting a game that has already started, say a baseball game, top of the first , 1 or 2 outs, you might get locked in but if you have been loyal to the book, they might let you slide and give the you play.
Heck, Ive even given out wagers in the bottom of the first inning on the condition that the score is tied after the first inning. Yeah, one team has been up to bat, the other is now batting but heck, as long as they want to bet the side, I might let em. Of course Im not going to be happy to book an under with a 0'0 score and two outs in the bottom of the first but on the side, why not? Thus if the score is tied 0-0 or 1-1 or whatever, a guy can still put his bet in.
Of course you have to make sure hes not betting 13 times his normal bet (like Mr. Manchester United) but its just a little courtesy that can go a long way.
Theres many other ways of displaying this loyalty to customers that have been loyal to the book and I think people really appreciate that kind of stuff.
Its already difficult enough to win money at it, no reason why you cant try at least to help em out if and when you can.
