"I need money, I don't need money." Loyalty to the books should mean something

I am pro-player as I feel the books get the edge holding the monies, but I just read an opinion by oldmantime that reminds me of some troubles we have in this business.

Do you want 2 dimes in the book or not?

Do you want to give them a fair share of business or not?

Do you want to be loyal to the book or not?

All of the talk and worries of ways to fund books is poppycock. Send a check, commit your funds and commit some time to the book. All of this move money here; move money there, needs to stop.

Decide what you want to spend, make a list what you want, ask around, find some books, send them some checks and be ready to play.

Commitment and loyalty is a great tool

I agree. I have found some great shops to play at and have just stuck with them win or lose. They have all paid me every time and I have certainly lost my fair share too. It has made a big difference to me and on several occassions I have received a few extra perks because of my loyalty.

Surfrat, so many complaints I have gotten on slow/no pay issues in the last couple months are 80% bonus issues where a person wants a withdrawal withing 30-60(often before 30) days of their deposit. Most stipulations are 30 day plus Rollover, but i would like to see this changed. I would like to see a book force more commitment. The problem herein lies that there is no way to get all of the books to do something together. Thus the competition lends itself as part of the troubles.

In my opinion, the bonus whores are the problem. These guys bounce from book to book searching for the next best deal without showing any loyalty and many bitch if the book enforces it's rules designed to prevent such activity. They are the true scum of offshore.

Another big problem is Books that Advertise on therx.com "50% cash bonus ON SIGNUP". When you click on the link if you catch the small print, you find out that isnt true.

If Bonus HOs were a real problem then the books would REDUCE their bonus % - Instead of increasing the % - Look around at this years FB bonuses!

Get real guys...

The books love bonuses when they can be utlized to bring in large sums of post up money quickly.

The only time that bonuses become evil is when the player wins.

This BS about the player being some type of theif for getting a bonus and cashing it out after the roll over is met is just that - BS.

Agreed. The books are to blame for offering the bonuses. I wish the whole bonus idea would go away.

I think you should change the sportsbook911 banner ad which states " 50% Cash Bonus on Sign UP " - This is false advertising, when I clicked on the banner and deposit they told me 20% Cash Bonus Only.

I dont know if this is an American thing or what, but all this loyalty and fair play stuff with bookies never happens in the UK.

Whats with the term "square" in the UK they call it as it is "loser"

It is hard to believe the number of posts that support a book when they have been turned over. I have yet to read a post on how some of these books consistantly lay odds that only a mug would take. If someone does, they are only too happy to call the person an idiot.

Maybe when people lose their money enough to books going under, they will have a different opinion. Or, maybe its just an American thing.

Agree with ya all the way, General.
Been loyal to all my books that are loyal to me.
Canbet and Olympic should be thrilled with what I have given and taken from them.

Remember, everyone is your friend with good news. You want your friends that are with you in bad news.

Take care.

Good post General. If a book treats you right there is no reason to leave them IMO.

General,
Loyalty is one thing but ...

limiting your outs and not moving your money to the shop with the best line on what you want ONLY hurts your wallet.

I absolutely love some of the books here like BG, IIS, Pin ... but if Sirbet (for example) has a better price then I'm sending money there.

IMO sacrificing value for loyalty is piss poor money manangement.

I'm sort of in between.

I only withdraw money when my balance has reached a level that is above my comfort zone with the book, taking its financial history into account.

Or when I definitely need it elsewhere, and I never take out more than half of the balance - except when the book is limiting me when it's pointless having a big balance.

But I am with lander - the odd % or 2 shaved off the prices you get really adds up to serious money over a year's betting.

General,

WHen i got burned by PTS, thegreek and GA, came to my rescue. FOr that I feel indebted to them, and wil always try to maintain an active account with them. But there are others books with whom I gave a lot of action, way and above any rollover requirement I may have had. So, the bonus was clearly not the issue. I just like the lines and knowing I'd get apid. But never once did I sense that they cared whether I stayed or left. Eventually my balance got to zero and I just moved on.

The bonuses are not the problem. The problem is that most books don't understand CS. If you wnat cusotmers to stay, you have to make them feel wanted. Let them know that you are aware of their existence. Just to give an example. Its very common in the business world, that when you have a client that gives you a lot of business, that you treat them to dinner, send them tickets to a ball game. YOu do something to develop a personal relationship, because you know that can just as easily give their business to someone else. Aside from being sent a dozen footbal/basketball/baseball schedules from abunch of different sites, and maybe a few shirts, I can tell you that I've gotten nothing. If you wnat players to be loyal, you have to earn it. and earning it, means going beyond the call of duty. Simply taking my bets and paying me when I win, is not a reason why i should give you my buiness. Not paying winners, is a reason not to play some where. But since there are plenty of sites that will pay, thats not a reason to stick with someone.

IMHO, loyalty comes from building personal relationships. It doesn't come from simply doing the job that is expected of you. If loyalty is important to sportsbooks, then they need to figure out a way to pinpoint the customers they want, and make them feel like they are really being given the vip treatment.

Well put marc.

This works both ways. The book should be loyal to the player and the player should be loyal to the book.

Thanks

I agree 115% with lander - he saved me the trouble of typing the same thing. When it comes to the green in my wallet, I'll plant it where the best return is, assuming the book is otherwise reputable. Period.
