I played Col. on the ML "action". There was a pitching change and I assumed I would be able to keep my original line (-110). When the game finished, I checked my acct and found that my line was adjusted upwards (-135). Is this right?

We're not talking about alot of money here - layed $330. Just curious...

Thanks

When you play "action" ,and there is a pitching change, the bookmaker can adjust the line to whatever he wants. He probably sets the new line based on the action that he took on the game.Alway list your pitchers.

I wanted Col. and I didn't care who pitched for SF, outside their starting rotation. If I had played "listed pitchers" then my play would have been cancelled. I would then have to reenter my bet..and I likely would ahve ended up with the same line I was stuck with.

If I had played SF (action) before the pitching change (they were at +103, after +125) would the bookmaker have adjusted my SF play at the higher number?

If the starting pitchers don't go, to me the game becomes unhandicappable. There are too many games to worry about one game,if there's a pitching change I just write the game off.

This subject seems to come up every couple of weeks. When you choose action you have guaranteed action if the game is played. With listed pitchers both staters who are listed must throw at least one pitch. In the situation tonight you had a pitching change that made your side (Col.) a bigger favorite. A new line is assigned to the game which 99% of all books use. Favorite or dog you get the new line of whatever side you bet. Anybody who had both pitchers listed had their bets cancelled in 99% of all books.

Except for some of the European books where your bet and price stands irrespective of who pitches (and bets with listed pitchers do not exist).

I was able to get COL at -110 about 20 minutes after the pitcher change at one book but another moved the line while I watched.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people make wagers and dont even have the most rudimentary knowledge of the rules they're betting into.
