Would you tell them not to or what?

Alot of guys get in over their heads, what would be your advice to anyone wanting to get started...Think of the thousands of young lads just starting to wager , starting this football season....The books are licking their chops!

Make a plan, stick with it, no matter what you think when drinking alcohol.

Gambling is hard enough without being under the influence of booze or drugs...My God I can only imagine how that could blow up! I have a hard enough time not chasing when I`m just drinking soda....

I don´t care if your a winner or loser, if you get addicted your life changes big time.

1. Research
The world’s largest and fastest research library is at your fingertips … use it. If a book stinks, there are hundreds of folks out there telling you how bad it smells. If it’s a standup shop, you’ll read about it on one of the legitimate review sites or forums. (If you voluntarily give your money to a thief, is it really stealing?)

2. Plan
Determine your bankroll in advance and exercise smart money management. Stick to your game plan, regardless how juicy any given number might appear. (And, like the other fellas said, don’t let your beer do your betting.)

3. Pace Yourself
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but it burned fairly quickly. Don’t try for the big kill … pace yourself. Play smart … avoid parlays, teasers and other low-value gimmicks. You won’t get rich overnight, but you can sure as hell go broke before the next sunrise.

4. Have Fun
If it stops being fun, quit.

DO NOT ACCEPT LOSING!!!

HAVE A WILL TO WIN!!!!!

STICK WITH BEATABLE GAMBLING OUTLETS ONLY.....SPORTS, POKER, VIDEO POKER, PROGRESSIVE SLOTS, BLACKJACK and to a lesser degree PARI-MUTUALS. These are all outlets that with proper strategy, you can sway the edge in your favor.

realize that you only have to hit 52% to be a winner if you bet the same amount every time and don't ever play parlays. then, you won't get upset when you lose a game. discipline is what its all about. without it, you will very quickly be a loser.

Bet Flat, bet Straight and bet what you can afford to lose!

When its not fun as Joe Wager said its time to quit, and I am sure I have said that before!

I wouldnt recommend flatbetting, the way to go is betting into value. So all a combination of Risc, chance to hit and possible profit.

"you have a better chance of winning if you develop a scamming scheme than if you are actually wagering on the games"

how unfortunate...
