I think so...

It would weed-out the phucks on both sides of the counter.

By going back to credit--what you are really saying is players sending checks to pay and The books sending checks to the players when they win.

We have no credit cards now--without a law. So I don't see how it speed up anything.

I have a couple of offshore credit accts and we have a low settle-up limit and it works great.

Post-up shops in general have too much leverage on us bettors.

Speaking of this... Freddog what's up

Not talking about speed...

Let's just say your settle-up limit is 2dimes (or whatever is comfortable for both parties). When 2dimes are owed pay-up by NETeller.

The longer the association the more "trust" is earned...

Many insiders will say. NO NO thats the easiest way to lose a customer. But I say look at Aces, Camelot and NAB etc...

franky......help what??

i am going to assume you mean "credit players and credit books" dont resort to scamming each other like some post-ups do...

franky....in order to cut down on the fraud and scamming that happens to offshore books today...you have to put the "human element" back into booking in all phases....

i think just about every scam or fraud done to a book in a wagering situation (revere/Wsex) is done by computer...somehow the perp. finds a glitch and exposes it....and too many times its discovered much too late...and this is the case when books make honest mistakes ie. upside down numbers/off betting lines, these are usually bet via the computer......

sportsbooks will ALWAYS have these type situations when people wager by computer, as software gets outdated, scammers improves faster than the software....almost like a game of cat and mouse..

obviously books arent going to do away with wagering by computer....

so you have to safe-guard, by black and white wagering rules..
that supercedes any type of phuck up that can/might/never happen when someone makes a few clicks of the mouse....

or like i said put the "human factor" back into it....
books need to develope some system or safeguards that prevent computer wagering abuse....

so when Mr. Revere who lives in cali, but his account info is in shy-town, bets from some third-world country at the wee hours of the morning, places 80 different wagers on a laptop that was stolen from the local library......some live living person should have to give approval before the wager is accepted....i dunno im not very computer literate...so i dont know if thats cost-effective or what......

i realize alot of gamblers prefer to wager by mouse-clicking.....it offers convenience, privacy, alot of things i guess...and there are some whales that like to do this to...

so cutting all internet wagers to $20 dollars max per game per account aint gonna work....

but the guy that likes to bet 20dimes a position at the office using his computer....by god i want to know when hes doing this......somehow someway when he starts clicking, my people are gonna be made aware of this...that way when the software accepts a bet that Spiro wouldnt take if the man was betting "who buys the next round of beers".....i am on it....

oh almost forgot to answer the credit question....no

nothing is full proof...but there are ways to reduce the ways books can get burned....

Would Revere with 2-3 soccer bets each for a 1000 or less and having NO phone contact with WSEX had a 40K credit limit?

Credit shops may not really know the bettor but they have talked.

Yes... Credit can be run on computers like post-up.

Will you answer my question?

The answer is no... Without phone calls or face to face meeting with an agent he would not have any credit muchless 40K.

My point: You say he took a shot at WSEX. In my credit world he would have never had the chance to take a shot.

franky......yes you are correct...that wouldnt of happened..shouldnt have at least........

credit books have different problems......no matter how carefull you are, you will get stiffed its part of the business....

heres a good example....

put a new player on last year during foots..(made him post up at first...no prob..

guys a nickle dime player.....plays the whole season having minus figures as high as 9k..... plus figures as high as 10k

here comes college bowl week......guys says hes gonna be out of pocket so he wants to bet the whole week of games...(not unusual)...

anyway.....he bets close to 20k action.....this does concern me because its more than double his normal stuff....

at this instance it becomes a judgement call for me....

1. he has settled every week with no prob..

2. sent 5k there first week to post up, on a agents recommendation..didnt know me from adam....

3. he is up a few dimes for the year...back and forth

from what he has shown me up to this point...i have no reason to doubt him.....only the fact the amount bet is more than he has ever lost previously, keeps gnawing at me......

i ask him if he is aware of the amount of action he is betting....he says yes

i ask him is everything ok....job, family, girl-friend..(seriously)
he says everything is fine.....i say ok good luck

blows his ass off......loses 17.5k.....call him to check his figure......i could tell by the tone of his voice when he answered....long story short....all i ever got was a nickle of the total figure...

when you book on credit....bad things tend to happen that normally wouldnt if a person posted up..

1. they die
2. they get robbed
3. on the way to settle up, they stop by the casino
4. family members die...sometimes twice in the same month
5. the runner dies
6. the runner gets robbed
7. the runner gets arrested, tells police the cash on him is for a bookie (actually happened)
8. a guy actually sent cut up newspaper that was supposed to be 4k by fed-ex....the damn fed-ex guy stole he explained to me..

this could be a never ending list......

Oh the memories. Family members died of players (who were down a big figure) on a routine basis it seemed. "Aunt Matilda died and she raised me since I was 2 yeas old so this will be rough on my family, I will be back in town next month if that is okay". Never the other way. It was very rare when a family emergency or anything else happened when a player couldn't settle if he was up.

I am sure it was just a coincidence.
