KING OF THE HILL 20,000.00 DOLLAR FOOTBALL CONTEST

http://therxforum.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=100090022&f=16710763&m=37210652

-It seems like this is a real fun contest.
-It has great season grand prizes.
-It has great weekly prizes.
-Only a 50 dollar entrance fee. (if you win one week you win 500 dollars)
-It's a very good book for Football season.
-Their reps visit this site frequently and are always online.

So whats the reason we cant get 100 people for this contest?

Well first of all, If you really want to get more people, then let people enter all the way up until Sept 6th. We dont have to count the very first game on Thursday FOR ANYONE! That helps the book as well.

But NO WAY IN HELL were you ever going to get 100 people from this site to pay money. If we get 40, then that beats the over/under in my book

Playersonly69,

I hear you. Maybe I was overestimating the # of people at this site that are actively gambling now. At first glance I figured that 90% of the people here were actually active gamblers, but as time has gone on, I have come to the (unfortunate) realization that many of the people at this forum are phantom gamblers. They enjoy posting their plays and their opinions and some of them enjoy instigating fights in the most subtle ways, but the majority of them never place real money down on their stated plays. These phantom gamblers have a hard time when it comes to a contest with an actual entrance fee. This may be the reason why the free contests with lesser valued prizes attract more participants. The contests that attract the actual "real" gamblers are the ones with the better prizes, which, in turn, come to life through help of the contest entrance fee, whatever amount that may be.

Referring to the BHB King of the Hill contest, I assumed (an obviously wrong assumption) that a 50 dollar entrance fee and a total 200 dollar post up was minimal for the true active "real" gambler. And from being an active member at this forum I figured we could easily get appx 100 people to join. But upon further review I have found that many of the people at this site are not active gamblers and the 200 post up is out of their budget. So these people only (can) join the free contests.

I am an advocate of all the contests here. I strongly urge everyone to at least join the free ones. What a (potential) loss it would be if you miss out on any of those. Its what you might call "Free Money". But I also strongly urge all the people here to try to find a way to join some of the pay contests. These contests usually have better prizes and most of the participants take it more seriously.

Sorry for all the ramble.

Play on!

Areef,

Maybe and maybe not. That still doesnt stop new people from signing up from the contest.

It's a great contest and the real gamblers in here should be able to afford the entrance fee and minimal 200 dollar total posting to get into this contest. It's the phantom gamblers that we'll have a hard time attracting.
