This guy is not what I pictured!!!! The 3 men picked him up at the airport and brought him to a seven star hotel. I was at the hotel early when he arrived and this guy is normal looking and very athletic looking: He had golf clubs, 4 tennis rackets, some paddle ball equipment, a nfl football (????), a bow an arrow (huh????) and 4 suitcases of books/ledgers,charts, 2 laptops and a palm. I knew this guy was a pro. He was clean cut looking and had a fukkin hair net on???? What!! He said it keeps his hair in place when traveling!! Maybe a west coast thing. We had breakfast and then he said he had lots of business to attend to. I gave him directions to the ballfield where my Uncle Nicky is going to meet him and his Son and Rail is going to coach the kid for a few hours on how to hit. This guy did not smile once and was intense. He is all business and about winning. He gave me a copy of his HS ratings for football and al the college teams. Thanks Rail and enjoy your stay in the metropolitian area and hopefully we will hook up before you leave.

I hope he shares his open picks with us and you clowns stop bashing him and maybe he will. He showed me passes to the locker room and said he will be dining with players , ect. I think he should have inside info.

Also, the way you described Rail is exactly how I thought he would be (bow and arrow, this guy means business). It's funny, I think I remember hearing that Charleton Heston used to wear a hair net during long trips, but I think it had something to do with keeping away evil thoughts from his mind.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. Please keep us updated.

PS, I might have a line on some designer midget trenchcoats with the 8BALL logo on it, for cheap. I know your not a midget, but at 5'4, that's borderline. JJ, please did you check Rail's clocks or watches? Notice how most of them are about 45 minutes off? His posts won't do us much good because his "late" information will come in and he will think he still has time to post it BEFORE it starts, yet he will be wrong. Please adjust those for us if you see him.

P.S. Do you think he is taking the bow and arrow with him to the Open? That might be a bit of a distraction for the players don't you think?

Degenerate I thought it was odd myself. I still do not know why he was wearing it and did not want to ask him either. He gave me a few odd looks too and i do not know why. I told him and the rest what the heck I looked like but actually seemed embarassed. Hey I met the guy and got my ratings sheets from him and he went his way .

Seriously, you all have to realize that these two are doing nothing but playing their game.

When Rail posted at MW, most of his posts were biblical quotes or jabs at the evils of gambling. You get the guy in chat, and he knows left coast sports like the back of his hand.

Rail, whatever happened with the ping pong tourney in Venice that had mentined in July? I may be wrong, but I thought it was early Aug.

TTinCo, it's not ping pong but a alternative form of tennis. Actually played it myself but not at any tourney level. Mostly with a couple of friends who I grew up with. Smaller court, a paddle with a short handle, punctured tennis ball so it's heavier. It was fun going at it for 5 sets. Gave it up after awhile because my feet would start killing me the next day. That was about 15 years ago.

JJ - I lived on the West coast for a long time.
I don't know about the hairnet, but carrying a bow with arrows is not uncommon out there.
Crossbows are illegal, but there is a loophole in the weapons laws, and it is not illegal to carry a bow.
I'm surprised you haven't seen it in movies or TV shows. Look at the extras - there's always a few in any street scene carrying bows, with a quiver full of arrows on their back.
I at first found it unusual to see businessmen in suits on the street - cell phone in one hand, hunting bow in the other - but it is certainly not uncommon.

The bow and arrow thing is not merely a West coast thing - anytime I hit south beach I bring my bow and arrow - in fact, it is rare to see someone without at least one arrow strapped to their back.
