Used to see this at Barbary Coast in Vegas for a few years and then Caesars had it for a year.

Team A -105
Team B Even

They were quick to move numbers, but if you were someone that wanted to keep track of who was moving numbers you could hang out there and see it for yourself. Supposedly they made very good money off of it because they would never put the numbers up until 9am, an hour after the Dust and half hour after Mirage. They got well ironed numbers and they shaded them a bit as well. Think predecessor to Pinnacle basically, they weren't afraid to gamble back then.

Ahh the good ole days in Vegas...

That would be nice if you knew you would get paid.

McIrish, they had low limits though, 1 dime. I think a lot of books could do well for themselves putting up nickel lines on TV games and keeping to the dime limit. As pointed out in the thread about playing dime books only bases should be seen mostly as a way to keep players in house and maybe expose some new players to your book at a time when servicing them is easy and helps defray fixed costs. A lost art really, I still remember how a lot of people were boiling over at CRIS back when they suggested the whole world would be on 20 cent lines soon as they couldn't make money on dime lines. Pretty shortsighted if you ask me, back then CRIS and Olympic looked like they were going to dominate the market that NASA didn't take, but it didn't turn out that way starting with that decision. Getting paid isn't an issue with baseball, after all how many books have ever gone under in August???

A nickel line with a dime limit probably can't cover the overheard.

That's a damn tight margin that would take a magician to make work in the long term.

Well just TV games to get the squares betting. One of those efforts to get more bettors into your joint and get them all on one game where you focus your effort on keeping a tight number. I wouldn't suggest it for all games on the board.

This is indeed a dime line.

I wonder if you are asking this in relation to BetJamaica's daily special yesterday ?? They advertised "Nickel Totals" on the Atlanta Braves game, but their prices were actually based on a "dime line" (like you posted above).

All books should go 105 nfl. Times are changing. Could be wrong, but plenty are testing the water this season.

Thanks Hali....I'm guessing that you have to be right. I guess someone in the marketing dept. is new to the industry(LOL).
