I guess I'm the first one from tonight's RX party at the Golden Nugget to make it back online (I live 20 minutes away)...so here's just a small recap for those who weren't able to make it here.
It was a great get-together in a secluded meeting room on the second floor of the Golden Nugget. I would say roughly 70-80 people attended (some made brief appearances, so I don't know how accurate any head count would be). A DJ was cranking the tunes and there was sports on the big-screen TVs (though skateboarding and lacrosse were the only things to watch besides SportsCenter). SHRINK sprung for a great spread (fascia bread pizza, chicken fingers, fried shrimp, veggies, desserts) and free drinks all night long. There were also some great door prizes (ESPN banners, offshore accounts, handicapping workbooks, a Rolex, and cold hard cash). I wasn't "on the clock" and wasn't planning to write this report, so I don't have who won what.
But, of course, the main reason people showed up was to meet their fellow posters and put faces to names. It was quite a mix of people...old and young. I met SHRINK, winkyduck, Dante, Assassin, Balls of Blue, and Krackman. I probably should have mingled more, but I was also chatting with fellow writers Stephen Nover of therx.com, Buzz Daly of buzzdaly.com and Rob Gillespie of bodog.com.
A lot of the people left before midnight and I'm sorry to report I have no idea what they were up to...but I'm sure there will be many more (and many more exciting) stories coming in the next day or two.
Oh...and I know from reading many posts in the past week that the question on most RX posters' minds is whether Angelle is pretty/hittable/etc...and the answer to all of the above is yes. In fact, I was amazed that there wasn't an unattractive woman in the room. I guess sexy women love gamblers (thank God for 'em!!!!!).
