3 ! Count em 3 Major League baseball games have ended in less than two hours this season ...

The bizarre part Oakland and Chicago were the teams in all three games, even more odd Mulder and Buehrle were the starters in ALL THREE GAMES

kind of makes sense. both pitchers work pretty fast, and didnt give up a lot of hits.

Yeah very true, say a normal game was just 3 hours , I guess they took home about 65 % that night ...

I have ever seen was a guy named Randy Jones who had 3 or 4 good years for the Padres in the 70's. Depending on the opposing pitcher his average game was over in 2 hours. I remember one that was over in 1 hour and 35 minutes. He was a sinker baller and got a ton of grounders.

Summer of `76 Jones started the year something like 16-1 , remember that one wil? I think he tapered off drastically..I remember he was on SI and was like 16-1 at the time...

Right He won the Cy Young that year. Something happened after that he ended up with a lifetime record of 100 wins and 123 losses. Strange.

Pete Rose called Randy Jones the toughest pitcher he ever faced. He just could not pick up the ball when Jones released it.

Does anyone remember the ump who retired a few years ago and in his last game he told the teams that he was going to call the strike zone as in the rule book. Game lasted 1hr and about 50 min.

Sounds like Ron Luciano, he was a character as an umpire. After he retired he wrote the book "The Umpire Strikes Back".

Eric Gregg was the worst ball and strike umpire I ever saw...

EVERYTHING WAS A STRIKE WHEN HE WAS BEHIND THE PLATE..AND NOT MAKING A JOKE HERE BUT MAYBE IT MAKES SENSE , HE WAS ABOUT 400 LBS SO MAYBE HE WAS IN A HURRY TO EITHER EAT, OR HE GOT TIRED FAST!

I saw him umpire a game once Greg Maddux was pitching, in Maddux prime, yeah you can imagine lol.......Maddux didn`t even have to throw a strike...I`d love to see his over/under stats..

Another ump with a very large strike zone, John Hirshbeck.....

Gregg would give Glavine two inches (at least) of dirt off the plate against right handed hitters. I used to wait for them two to hook up for several years, usually at least twice a year.

Yes Wil, that was the other beneficiary of the big man...Glavine if he doesn`t get that corner he really can`t pitch...He has to be the pitcher of all time who never comes inside....Just like game 6 World Series one hitter versus Cleveland , if he didn`t have the ump he doesn`t win the game...I`ll never forget that shiit! I despise Glavine
