ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Lou Piniella put on quite a show for his Tampa Bay players and the fans at Tropicana Field.

``That was a really good one,'' Lee said of Piniella's four-minute argument. ``He spread it out over time. Just when you think he's done, he started up again. It's pretty impressive.''

Piniella was tossed as the Orioles tied it in the ninth against reliever Jesus Colome.

Brian Roberts led off the inning with a single and Luis Matos followed with a single. Matos took a wide turn after his hit and had to hustle back to first -- and when second-base umpire Jerry Layne called him safe, Piniella flew into a rage.

Piniella charged out of the first-base dugout, threw his hat and started arguing.

`I told Jerry he was out position, and he didn't appreciate it,'' Piniella said. ``That and a couple of expletives.''

Piniella soon began kicking his cap, sending it flying from the infield grass onto the dirt.

After picking up his hat, Piniella threw it again and booted it to the dugout.

``The hat was just laying there,'' he said, ``it was begging for it.''

If you watch the replay the guy applied the tag late...The throw beat him to the bag but the actual tag was close..still looked like he was out.

If Tampa Bay is ever good at baseball lol...I cannot imagine that team ever winning even 90 games, If Lou pulls this off WOW!

His other stops had alot more talent, I really thought he was basically semi retiring taking this job...
