New field, and I will bet lots of deals over the winter and the Padres will be right in the thick of things next year. I would not be surprised if they win the west in the NL next year! Viewed the stadium a couple of weeks ago when I went to some Padres games and it will be a beaut! Can't wait to go some games next year!
Tied a franchise record for hits in a 9 inning game - 24 - Maddox lit up for 13 hits and 5 earned runs in 5 innings. The Padres had 24 hits on April 19th 1982 Vs. the Giants. The Braves lost their 3rd straight. One more note: The Braves unveiled a statue of all time great and Hall of Famer Warren Spahn in the Plaza outside Turner Field. The statue joins three others, Hank Aaron, Phil Niekro, and Ty Cobb, in Monument Grove.
