U.S. men lose bronze medal in basketball to Puerto Rico in Pan Am Games

SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC--In the first round, the Americans played Puerto Rico tight down to the final buzzer. In the medals round, the game got away early.

Puerto Rico went on a 14-0 run in the first half en route to defeating the U.S. men 76-70 in the bronze medal match at the Pan American Games on Wednesday night. The loss means the United States did not win a basketball medal at the games for the first time in 32 years.

I know I'm from the U.S, and I might catch some criticism for this, but in a way, I like to see the U.S basketball squads lose now and then compared to just total dominance. Brings some of those arrogant guys back down to Earth!

Its not like they give a crap... The arrogant ones won't even play for the US team, its a waste of their time

Maybe god didn't want them to win because he was too busy helping you and others like you find young boy to molest. After all that is what your organization is best at. Wrong guys, they do give a krap. They just go into these games so cocky thinking they are "high and mighty", but when they find out they might have more competition on their hands than expected, and actually lose, then they wake up and definitely do care. That's why I said I kind of like seeing them lose now~a~days than compared to just dominating the rest of the competition, because they think they are "invincible" on the court, and even in other aspects period.

The U.S. team is yet to play this year. We are discussing last years choke team. Baron Davis, Andre Miller, Paul Pierce, to name a few.

They had a bunch of nobody college guys, it was surprising they got this far. If they really wanted to win these things all they would have to do is make up a squad of players from the teams that don't make the playoffs, just like they do in the NHL for the hockey world championships and this wouldn't be an issue. Instead USA basketball only waits until they are on the verge of missing out on the Olympics or whatever until they put together a decent team. Is it really that bad to have to play 5 or 6 extra games while on a virtual vacation? That attitude is what pisses me off most. They act like they aren't the same because they had to expend a couple weeks efforts. Take guys that didn't make the playoffs and they don't even get that excuse because they will be working about as much as a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs.
