I was one of the first people in the industry (I think) to get a phone call from Anthony and it was definitely a bombshell. I was shocked and disappointed. He explained the entire situation and some of it, I promised confidentiality, which I take very seriously. I felt let down because I always publicly supported them and we used them EXTENSIVELY.
Obviously, he is not just taking people’s money and disappearing ala Aces Gold. My fear is that there has been mismanagement ala Mark Dell and there may be some continued slow pay. My strongest wish is that it is something similar to what happened with Fort Knox and that everyone will be paid quickly and that it was just a change in business plans.
Anthony gave several reasons for wanting out of the RETAIL e-commerce business and two of them really struck a bell. One was related to legal issues regarding Canada and the banking laws. (There is something to this.)
The other was that he said. “You know, I get along very well with some of the sportsbook owners and managers but I really hate dealing with customers and I am absolutely terrible at it.”
I think many (all) will agree with this.
I am a relative newcomer in this business as I have only been in this business for about four years. I hear terrible things about ALOT (most) of the people in this industry. If I believed everyone, I would not be able to do business with anyone. I judge people on performance and how they treat me. Anthony has (almost) always performed well in the past, sending wires instantly and following up on things he promised (new features etc.) and he has always treated me well.
Now is his turn to prove people wrong and QUICKLY pay all of the money owed to everyone. Time will tell, I just hope the time element is very short.
