I would like to know who still collects sportscards (hockey, football, basketball, baseball, etc.).

Also anyone who collects via Ebay and/or who sells/buys off of ebay.

We'll make it a little fraternity to ensure we do this ebay thing right.

Or if you just have a collection or some cards that you want to get rid of. Tell Me/us on this thread what you have.

You may email me also if you'd like jimmywolfrey2@hotmail.com

I used to be a die~hard collector who kept only top~notch cards, but lost interest about 3 years ago. I still have a few and have bought a few new ones here and there, actually prefer & like autograph cards from top players that come directly out of the packs so you know they are legit.

Cards went downhill big time in the late 80's! Talk about a BUST i compare it to what the stock market did 3 years ago. Most cards aren't even worth 10% of what they were in '87 or '88. It's a joke and you can blame it on the industry for one thing. Why the hell did they have to make 10 million Bo Jackson rookies and another gazillion Jose Canseco's. The prices of the cards these days makes me not even give a crap about them.

Your right neverstop, but it picked up huge again later on with the more expensive stuff hitting the market. But, even now, the value is ridiculously low, but a lot of that is Beckett's fault. It doesn't matter what a card is priced, you can still usually go to a show and get it for half of book value, but the problem here is, if you want to sell, your lucky if dealers offer you 25%, even for great stuff.

Lucky you for keeping your cards...I am fairly young but I used to collect back in the early 80's and mid 80's..and I collected Hockey and Football mostly. By the time I realized what I had, I completely ruined the cards by putting rubber bands around them and playing games to acquire cards like Flipping them (heads wins) and throwing and whoever gets it closer to the wall wins!!!

I had 10 Jerry RIces and about gazillion marino and elway rookies...but they were all beat up. As I started to collect again in the late 80's and early 90's I sold them all to finance whatever I wanted to get even though they weren't even that good of condition. Best transaction I think I made was selling 10 don mattingly 84 donruss and 5 darryl strawberries for 500 dollars back in 89/90. Now you will be lucky to get 200 for those. The sad thing is the guy who bought them probably turned around to sell them for 1000.

The reason card were worth alot , because it was rare anyone kept them mint....Around 1980 that all changed, collecting and putting cards away became the thing to do....

My collection , my original collection started with the 1970 Topps set, mint condition...LOL We used to "pitch " cards before school started back in 5th grade....I can`t even remember what the object was , but it had something to do with knocking down a "leaner"
