1 thing I don't understand....

Alot of people claim that only about 1% of bettors know about these forums.

However, when somebody breaks bad news about a book on the forums, sportsbooks often claim they have a huge run on the bank like majorbetting just did. I remember last year 1 book said they had to pay out over $250,000 in a few days after they had a story break out on the forums about them.

Does this mean more people than we think read these forums or the people who read them are big bettors?

I would imagine that all big-time players either read these forums or have another way to get news about their outs. It would be stupid not to, with the volatility of the offshore books.

I imagine a combo of both.
I think there are a lot that just lurk, and i imagine some of the people here bet much more than you would think.

most guys that play on-line and shop for books eventually run into forums, and sooner or later end up at the most influential like the Rx. Other guys who play through agents and use telephones only to play obviously would not come into contact with any forums. IMHO

I like to keep around a couple of gambler buddies and as far as I know, I'm the only one that posts. When I hear stuff, I'd usually let them know.

It isn't hard to imagine that one person could spread something to several groups of non-forum participating gamblers fairly quickly.

No question that the forum is read by many higher society type players. I know there are many very significant people reading here and in many disputes i have worked on with books, most all of the books know of us.

There's a lot of lurkers..per instance just now there's 105 guest versus 93 registered members(that might be lurking as well!!)
