I dont but often test many, in hopes of finding the holy grail, so to speak. its fun testing systems, just wondering if any one had anything hot going. Im testing a friend of mine, its 18-8 the last 2 days, not asking anyone to disclose theirs, or trying to sell anyone (anything).. Just wondering what the thoughts are.. Im a handicapper first and foremost, system testing is just something on the side that fascinates me..

this isnt actually my system, im just monitoring it for a friend.. i bet the brewers, pirates, and reds today, its posted in the contest thread on the mlb forum.. i do however constantly monitor and track systems, hoping to find the elusive one.. some have winning records but poor money management, others are pure crap, and some i dont give enough time to. as for this one, im merely getting the plays from a guy that im friends with. he was talking about winning this season, and i said "prove it", so im going to track 100-200 of his plays and see how he does.. he has a nice start 18-8 (+9.85 units). lets see what he does today.. ill call him again tonight, ive got to go out for a while today..

I hope you win your late game. I was on the Padres today, I somehow missed your early post in the BB forum or I would have given you my reasons. It was a pretty wild game. If you are really looking for systems try (I hope this does'nt cause a problem) Statfox.com. discussion forum. Lots of systems with well documented results.

I have been following them. My problem is I am a max 2 to 3 game a day player. Hard to play a system that kicks out so many plays, then again if he keeps up this very strong showing I can adjust.

GL tonight, see you tommorow in Bases, Wil.

wil, im not playing them, --- just watching them, he bragged and said he had won all year,, now how many times do we hear those statements, he then said that he would give me the plays.. you know that i dont play many games per day either, i am going to follow along, over about 100-200 plays.. we will see how they do.

Truly mechanical systems can work, if you understand statistical significance. Most people don't.

I have yet to find an simple mechanical angle that I am comfortable betting on blindly, but I am currently using a couple as 'filters' to isolate games that I then evaluate using basic 'fundamentals' for handicapping (MLB). I am ahead for the season (to date) but the ROI on the time invested leaves a lot to be desired.

SSI, your MLB picks are doing well. How much time do you spend handicapping each game?

puppy, honestly about 10 minutes,, some are done away with quickly due to the fact that i dont play many big favorites or dogs,, this eliminates some each day rather quickly.. then i start going through my filters, looking for reasons not to play a game.. when im in a groove, i like between 1 and 5 daily, and 3 is a very good number.. the system above is just one that im tracking, plays for this system on friday and in mlb forum..

there are many systems that are definitely worth betting blindly.

anyone that says differently either has an agenda or is really stupid.

one of my favorite all-time posts was at MW with Reno saying there were no systems that worked. Oh yeah, and Reno and his stats guy were going to take the baseball market over. Check out Reno's baseball year at OSB.
