This is laughable, and preposterous, them boys you got on the congress, pocketed by ORGANISED CRIME, have decided to do what their mentors and pimps say, pass a gambling bill, this is fvcking pathetic, as much as i like the u.s., (not a lot - but i consider this country the originator of many progressive measures (well not obesity, neither nike, nor anti labour laws, but still a lot), this is a fvcking parody, wtf, you guys can shoot each other up with guns, send other people to the hilt (aka death sentence) but you wont fvcking allow gambling, what a fvcking parody.

Face it guys, your government is a no more than a straw man when it comes to mob boses calling the shots and disallowing, or at least trying to, offshore gambling.

I expected much more from the u.s. who tries to bring "democracy" to the rest of the world, i expected the right to be free to take a chance and wager...

Well instead of that you get los alamos government crack sold to the ghetos, imperialism while jersey city is die-ing, death penalties validated by COKEHEADS AND ALCOHOLICS in the state of texas, guns, drugs, peep shows, fvcking pathetic.

Well lets be totally fair here. I'm not a big fan of current US policy, and of course I abhor this Gambling bill, but in a way democracy is in action.

I don't know if you watched in the 2002 election as a couple states (Nevada Included) shot down Marijuana Decriminalization by a margin of around 66-33.

I'd say the average american on the street who has a live and let live toward marijuana feels similarily about gambling.

The point of all my rambling is that I'd wager if you put "legalized internet gambling" as a proposition on a state ballot next election, you'd have a hell of a time finding a state who would actually pass this proposition.

So in a way, democracy is at work. I could be wrong about the common perception of gambling. And of course the majority shouldn't dictate what is acceptable non-harmful personal behavior (like drugs/prostitution/gambling). But to rip on our sense of democracy, I think is a bit of a low blow.

ok, but the perception about what is right or wrong can be, and are directly influenced by propaganda mechanisms...

Alright let's start from the top.

Correct me if i am wrong...

1. Does organised crime control gambling (sports betting) in the u.s.? Yes.

2. Is organised crime one of the main benefactors of u.s. senators and / or congressmen? Yes.

3. Is it to organised crime's interests to wager offshore? No.
QED.

but let's expand this some more...

The people of texas, real progressive, open minded and well educated, but let's put that aside for a sec.

They think that it is alright, ok, not sinfull, and just to put another human being to rest, aka kill him or her, if their infallible judicial system says so. But yet they would vote down a gambling bill. So, in essence human beings are infallible enough to judge another guilty and kill him, but are fallible enough so they should not wager?

Conclusion:
1.Propaganda at work by mob bosses, so they dont take illegal gambling away from them, i am glad i live abroad because i sure as hell would not express such an opinion in any form of congregassion, mobsters being what they are. Hence no democracy at work, democracy isn't when some macho's dictate the populate will, that's roman rule, democracy as it originated in ancient athens greece is when the populus is given a fair chance to decide, however wrong or ignorant it may be, and i usually isn't.
2. Governmental hypocrisy, as if the u.s. was such an angelic place that gambling should be illegal.

Funk: I truly believe that given a choice of raising their taxes to pay for such things as education, roads, etc. OR have the government regulate internet wagering it would pass in most states.

But -choses are never clear--freedom ain't free and the very Congressmen and women that voted today--DO NOT want Campaign Contributions Capped!

i cant fvcking believe this, this is a gambling forum and there is a real chance that gambling offshore could turn illegal, and you get these propagandised dimwits saying "kiss my ass", go to "saudi arabia" and shit...

Wake up boneheads, it's your gambling offshore that is gone be taken away from you, i can wager legally in my country. While you spit out your pro fascist spoon fed propaganda, you fail to realize that i am talking about a real issue that affects you too. Or are you just here to socialize and you dont really wager online?

My hero's are the men that have died defending that flag you just represented being burned. Yet you mock them by your actions. If you're unhappy with the USA then get the f*ck out. It's as simple as that.

alright max, your anger may be justified, but...

CAN ANYONE FVCKING REPLY TO MY ARGUMENTS CONCERNING THE SITUATION WITH OFFSHORE BETTING, THE HYPOCRICY BEHIND BANNING GAMBLING, AND THE INTERESTS OF THE MOB IN TERMS OF ILLEGAL MONIES FROM GAMBLING.

Jack,

I'm not sure what you mean by the mob controlling the gambling. Unless you figure the mob is controlling the MGM, Park Place and other casino holding companies. I do agree that it's hypocritical to have a state sponsored lottery and then not allow sports gambling. But don't look for that to change anytime soon. It's all about taxes right now. And it always will be.

Jack,

I just reread your last post and saw the "illegal part" of your post about monies. I can't really disagree or agree with your position on mob influence except to say it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.
