was just in New Orleans last week for a few days, my 3rd trip down and the place only gets better every time!

I don't think i would even bother with Las Vegas if New Orleans had sportsbooks, and with the internet and my cell phone i can get around that with ease.

The city simply has the best food in America, hands down. Where else can you get a world class meal every restaurant you go to, and there are TONS of them.

I stayed at The St.Ann Marie Antoinette, on Conti for 59 bux a night, the place was litterally 50 feet from Bourbon street so we were able to stumble back in after a hell of a lot of fun at Larry Flynt's Hustler club, 2 dollar anything last Monday night...

I went on a cemetary tour, and injected quite a lot of quetions and points since i have done a ton of research on the JFK assassination and its portrayal in the movie JFK which brought out all sorts of posibilities that may have existed IN New Orleans... Visited Clay Shaw's former residence on 1313 Dauphine street in the quarter and talked to a local about him.

Anyone that hasn't been to New Orleans needs to Run, not walk, there as fast as possible, even in the summer heat its an absolute blast.

Check out the Seaport on Bourbon for fabulous views from the balcony while you dine on FRSH seafood..here is what i indulged in:

CAJUN COMBO PLATTER Blackened Fish, Seafood Etouffee, Jambalaya, Barbecued Shrimp & Deviled Crabcake with Hush Puppies

I had the best Blackened Ribeye at the Oceana on Conti, or at least the best anywhere besides Morton's.

The history in the French Quarter is amazing, no other place like it really in the states.

CHECK THIS CITY OUT BEFORE YOU DIE!!!

I couldnt agree with you more. I am as New York-centric as they come and I absolutely love the place. Its a beautiful city steeped in a rich history. I havent even touched on the deep culinary roots. I love it over there and will certainly be back time and time again.

Does anyone know what it would cost to live there? I mean property in the French Quarter seems expensive, but i have no concrete figures. Any info would be great, i saw some really nice looking condo type places for sale on Dauphin St.

1)i want to live in the quarter...no doubt about that, and from what i saw, Dauphine and Esplanade looked perfect.

2)I need a job LOL I mean i have one but would need to be a computer programmer, along with my wife too, are there programming jobs down there?

3)Wouldn't mind keeping the price around 150,000 to 200,000

Sound reasonable?

Awesome..

These would be just feelers for sure. I want to know what is there then consider some serious moves.

Also like the fact that Pensacola Beach is only 3 hours away, we went Deep sea fishing after we left New Orleans...Beautiful beaches.

I stayed in the warehouse district (one block from Emerils). I really liked it over there. However, if given the choice I would love to live in one of those unique houses in the garden district. I am as city as they come, but the Garden District was simply immaculate. While walking around Tulane, I honestly thought I was on set of Midnight of Garden of Good and Evil. Each house had so much character it was unbelievable.

And compared to living in NYC, everything so was so cheap down there I almost fell off my chair. New Orleans is my favorite city in the United Staes aside from NYC. I cant even believe I can say that, but its the truth.

One thing i have found odd and that no one seems ot mention.

Why is it that New Orleans is never mentioned as a future MLB city?? They now have the Hornets, have been great supporters of the Saints for decades. The Superdome can do baseball, i saw a Cubs preseason game there on WGN a few years back.

Any idea as to why Montreal hasn't considered this wonderful place??
Its no surprise why teams love coming here for super bowls and final fours...

My wife's daugter from her previous marriage in BIG into the real world on MTV. So we drove down St Charles and found the Belfort Mansion where they filmed it, the place is under renovations, but was cool to see. Anyone seen this place? Right down the street from Loyola and Tulane.

Quarter was way too touristy for me. Thats like living in the Village in NYC. Nice to visit, but not to live IMO.
