Lately, it seems that some posters must be bored and they are taking cheap shots at others. I know that when Football starts, this nonsense usually tapers off a bit. I would really appreciate it if we could start working together to assist others with information about sports books and ballgames, rather than attacking people. The spirit of this forum has always been to allow gamblers to share ideas, experiences and opinions relating to offshore sports betting...

With that said, I can no longer continue recommending ROYAL SPORTS as an advertiser on this site. Although ROYAL SPORTS has indeed asked to be here again throughout the FOOTBALL season, I could not look at myself in the mirror if I were to recommend that posters play there...

Although ROYAL was once one of the better offshore establishments, they no longer are. Many of their key employees have left them and they appear to be in complete disarray...

The MAIN reason of all not to play there is that I asked myself if I would ever consider sending them money at this time, and the answer was "NO!" How in the world could I recommend ROYAL to OTHERS when I know DEEP in my HEART that I could not and would not play with ROYAL at this time??? Perhaps in the future, ROYAL will take care of some rather larger fiscal responsibities, and become the solid sports book that it used to be. If that comes to fruition, then I would be happy to reconsider my decision...

But, I am a firm believer that after a sports book stiffs people in upper management, the next most likely people to get stiffed are the gamblers who send them money. With Football right around the corner, I expect that ROYAL is in dire need of post up revenue but it's not going to happen because of me or this site.

Royal is in trouble via not paying former employees. Royal is experiencing changes in organization and 1 shareholder is actively seeking a deal to sell out the last I heard. Royal is predicting a positive outcome, but as players we cannot rely on their expectations, but need stability and a feeling of trust with our funds. Personnel costs were reduced, to be more lean, but a sign of troubles and/or need to conserve overhead for various reasons.

Good move Shrink. No better way to assist players than by cutting and curving the path for players to get to questionable situations. By advertising here, we are saying that players have our full support & confidence that they will be fine. I do not feel that way & am glad that you are deciding to take that worry off of our plate.

Less than a year ago, Royal was highly rated and as these accusations hit the forums months ago we stopped and awaited good things. As of today, we still see no resolve.

Thanks for taking this action Kenny. I agree 100% with your reasoning. Personally, been saying to myself(and trying to tell others

) that this is my opinion too. Better safe than sorry!!

Ethics over dollar signs , not many (if any) watchdog owners would do this ....

Yes sir, but I still think this thread is interesting and relevant to the inner workings of watchdog sites. You know in your heart you could not recommend someone placing fresh monies in the hands of Royal at this time. Am I correct, sir?

24-7,

You are 100% correct and thank you for the thumbs up sign...

I believe that anyone who owns a watchdog site and says they are not trying to make some money doing it is lying...

Having a gambler's mentality, when I asked myself if there was any way I could send ROYAL money at this time, the choice on whether to continue supporting them or take them down became crystal clear...

In my opinion, if other important sites don't follow suit, then that's because the money probably played too important of a roll in their decision process...

And that's sad...

But that's also why we have good posters like you guys to help clear our thought processes when they become clouded with the almighty dollar sign....

As you know Ken I am very happy to see you do this. Nothing against Royal, I sincerely hope things will work out for them, but I think if the book is not strong enough for Ken to send his money to it shouldn't be up top. Can't think of a better measuring stick than that. Yes it will cost the site money but I feel it is the right thing to do.

Good work Shrink.

Random thought for the day.

Against criticism a man can neither protest nor defend himself; he must act in spite of it and then it will gradually yield to him.

'Nuff said.

I just trued to withdraw $2500 from royal, just to see what would happen, and I got the dreaded "transaction can not be completed at this time." message

Oldfriend,

if you are reading this post, I jsut want to thank you for warning me on monday not to re-up with royal on tuesday. That may have been a disaster.

marc: why would you want to re-up with them when you already have at least a $2,500 balance with them? Fill us in.

Shrink: with all due respect, you should change your name to Chameleon or Leopard, as fast as you change.

Something just doesn't smell right here.

Ken I know its hard to turn away that Advertising Money but in the long run doing the right thing will help this site more than any books Advertising Dollars!!!!

Ballgame,

I apologize for the way i wrote my post. I went bust last week at Royal. But when I saw Troelsen's post that a friend of his has been waiting for three days for a neteller withdrawal, I submitted a neteller request for $2500 just to see whether neteller would accept it or reject it. And it got rejected. But just to make cear, i have no money there.

Shrink,

Thank you for the honest assessment.
It takes a strong man to make difficult decisions, especially when they may affect the bottom line.
Based on the on-going commentary the last few weeks, I had liquidated my account at Royal. Glad I did. Thanks you to all who particpated in the royal discusssion, especially those with inside information or industry contacts.

SHRINK has just invited a stampede! This is truly the KISS OF DEATH…

There have been many, many incidences and rumors pointing to financial problems with this book for many months now. I read somewhere that a customer is not being paid 6k. I think this book goes insolvent by Oct.

And how many here fell for that 20% offer? Just curious...

Royal was one of the BEST books around and the people that USED to run it were seasoned professionals that understood the American gambler and American sports. Stand-up Guys like Marty Monroe and Scotty etc.

But Royal is no more. All the good people there are GONE. Royal is just the name on the Shingle outside their door and inside the people trying to run it now are scrambling around trying to fool us that it's the same company by propping up a couple of Customer Services reps and other B.S.etc.

Consider this...how many times have you had a business or restaurant in your U.S. home town that you loved because they treated you right and you did business with loyally for years because of the way they treated you...and then one day they sold the restaurant to some foreigner and even though they still had pretty hostesses at the door to greet you, and the restaurant looked the same, and the sign outside didn't change...BUT the food wasn't the same because the cook was no longer there, and the owner that you knew for years wasn't there to handle special problems and orders, and the new waitresses keep bring you the wrong order etc...

Well after a couple times you would STOP giving them your business right? Of course you would stop going there.

I look at this company that's trying to call themselves ROYAL the same way.
Just because the sign outside says Royal and the Royal website works...doesn't mean anything...it's NOT the same company and I will not do business with them just because some new owners own the name on the shingle.

Anyone in their RIGHT mind that still wants to do business with Royal just because of the Royal name are complete FOOLS...but fools are entitled to their own opinion and can send their money down the toilet for all we care.

Just my 2 cents.

P.S. I warned you guys about this months ago. Good Luck
