Am I the only one who thinks Michael Vick is way overrated?

I have been seeing posts here left and right saying how he is incredible and unstoppable. He is a really good athlete and can run, but as a QB he is still below average. Look at his stats from last year throwing:

Completion % - 25th
Yards - 19th
Yards Per Attempt - 12th
TD's - 20th
TD % - 22nd
Rating - 18th

As good as he is running, those passing numbers dont exactly scare me that much. Stats obviously dont tell the whole picture, but they do offer some insight which usually correlates strongly with performance. Any thoughts?

I agree he has potential. He is just not as good a QB right now as some people are making him out to be. Far from a sure thing.

Vick has the potential to be the real deal.

He needs two years, offensive line protection, and to stay healthy.

Vick can certainly bring excitement to a close game.

yeah, Im sure all quarterbacks that have won the superbowl and are considered all time greats had STELLAR rookie seasons where they were rated number one in every category.

Vick is still raw talent, this year should be his prom and graduation into stardom.....

I remember watching him in the National Champ. game against Bobby (Dad'gummit) and the Noles and he was very impressive from an athletic standpoint. Then I think his rookie year at Atlanta he got into a game late and it was one of his first appearances. He was scrambling around and no one could catch him. He rolled to one side of the field and threw a pass on a frozen rope about 60 yds to the other side of the field and hit the receiver...I was saying "My God

you just have to be born with talent like that...you can't coach that." The guy is an athletic freak. Speed, arm-strength, agility...he's got all the tools he just has to learn and develop.
