July 28 was once an off day for the Reds. Instead, it has turned into the busiest day of their season. Cincinnati fired manager Bob Boone and GM Jim Bowden prior to a makeup game against Philadelphia. Bench coach Ray Knight is running the team for the game, and Triple-A Louisville skipper Dave Miley will be interim manager for the rest of the season

Maybe they are gearing up for the return of Pete

Just don't see it happening. Pete knew the consequences of getting caught gambling and he did it anyway.

MLB is on the verge of allowing him back. Almost happened before opening day. It is going to happen soon.

Pete should be back managing the Reds period. he belongs there and fans want him back.
