A good friend of mine likes to have a share in my plays. It will not surprise many that I cannot offer him a share on my account in the bets I make with certain books, because I already want to bet more than the maximum allowed for each account holder, so I told this guy to open his own accounts to follow my bets for those books that do not change the line. If I do not happen to be near my computer I often ask him to put bets on for me and visa versa. With only little effort books can easily discover that we kind of work together. Is this ok? Or am I likely to be the next accused across the street, if I continue like this?

For your 4th choice I suggest replacing the word "fantasy" with "ideas"

I am not an IT expert but I think modern software can get around problems associated with syndicate play. They simply do not accept bets above a certain limit and if warranted, the line could move automatically at the moment a limit bet is placed. So no partnership could exceed the limit unless they were willing to have the second half of the bet go off at lower odds, and I presume the bookmaker would not have a problem with this. Another limit bet, another line move, and so on. If the bookie sets his limit and moves the line properly, he will not be exposed too badly no matter what strategies syndicates adopt. The bookie could also build in a delay mechanism or simply take the game off the board for a while if the action gets too heavy on one side, just like financial markets close down temporarily when they get too volatile.

acw,

my guess is that it would depend on what book you are playing with. if they view what you are doing as being a way for you to get around max bet limits, then i think they will have A SERIOUS problem with it.

perhaps the best idea for your situation is to talk to a manager at the book you are playing at, and explain the situation. being up front and honest about it, will probably make things a lot easier.
