NBA superstar Kobe Bryant bought his wife, Vanessa, an eye-popping $4 million, eight-carat purple diamond ring just days after admitting adultery and being accused of raping a Colorado hotel worker, says a new report.

Bryant - accompanied by his wife and their 6-month-old daughter, Natalia - picked up the ring Monday from an exclusive jewelry boutique in Santa Monica, Calif., two weeks after specially commissioning it, reports People magazine in an article on newsstands tomorrow .

"They looked very happy together," said Raffi, the man who made the jewelry, and who two years ago crafted the couple's wedding rings, according to People.
