The Chairman of the Gaming Board for The Bahamas called for regulations that would stabilize the fast growing industry of Internet gambling. Gaming Board Chairman Kenyatta Gibson made this appeal as he officially opened The Sixth Annual International Symposium on Internet and Wireless Gambling Law and Management. He said that The Bahamas was excited to learn more about Internet Gambling, which it does not regulate. The Government is proposing new amendments to the Gaming Act, and there is a proposed challenge in the Supreme Court of the Bahamas to lift the prohibition of Bahamians playing in local casinos. 'But at the same time,' Mr. Gibson said, 'let there be no doubt that The Bahamas is poised and ready to take advantage of every opportunity and trend in the gaming industry.' The Bahamas congratulates its sister CARICOM member-state Antigua and Barbuda on the pace set in establishing its Internet Gaming Services, he said . The gold rush is on. @@@

I wouldn't keep YOUR maney in the Bahamas.

This jurisdiction will roll over to the US, faster than a well trained dog.

Joey.,

In your opinion do you think if bahama's comes onboard with online casinos/books could this lead to some sort of legalization in the US due to the fact they are tight with the US?

No I don't see this happening at all.

A few years back the Bahamian Government started to fully cooperate with the US. Onerous domestic legislation was passed, and offshore banking for US persons effectively died.

As predicted, their offshore industry has died, but their lowlife politicians seemed more interested in getting aid and "travel" benefits.

Funny story to tell you about Bahamian justice.

Under English Common Law, a judge from one jurisdiction is allowed to sit on the bench in another ECL country. This goes back to the early settlement days when judges were scarce and had to be transported between the various commonwealth nations.

To make the long story short, when the US wants something done, they take one of a few judges they have in their pocket, get them appointed to preside over a particular case so the outcome is pre determined.

Of course the presiding "Judge" is awarded with family trips and perks to visit his "collegues" in Washington etc etc.

Your tax dollars at work boys.

The Bahamas has more Toms than Foster Farms.
