i didnt bother to read SHRINKS thread about banning the other day, until now i stayed away from that kinda of stuff........

the reason im writing about this now is because
it seems that SPIVE was banned.....i cant give an opinion for most posters that have been banned, but i can for SPIVE because just about every thread he started or responded too........i had some objection to whatever SPIVE said..so i stayed on top of his threads (so did JUDGE)

so unless ive missed something, SPIVE didnt do anything to deserve a bannning....

and this brings me to this question

MODERATORS....when you decide to ban someone

why not do this???

state the reason and the length of the ban...thats it... you dont have to have other posters opinion or anything just lock the thread.....

in all honesty i think other posters deserve to know if a fellow poster was banned and the reason...and it needs to come from moderators not other posters that got it from second and third hand information..

what do you say???

I think you have a valid point here and something we will discuss.

As for Spive, her rights were reinstated long ago and an email sent to her. Whether the email was valid, I am not sure, but..

I take this oppurtunity to let Spive know openly that I wish her return and wish she would consider.

I must admit Shrink asked her to cool down. The man was reasonable when finally deciding to let her cool down AWAy from here, she just wouldn't stop. Just like a kid with a new toy:

Spive was banned for her constant non-stop bashing of the Rx advertisers, for the most part, because they were CR based, and then the final decision was made when she made un-needed remarks about betworks also as soon as they were contracted/announced as advertisers. It seemed a no-win situation and there is no justification to non-stop bash books soley because they are based in CR, let alone a solid shop like Betworks out of Aus.

Right/Wrong, that was the reason.

That's true Genral. Most of her rants against books had no foundations, but the argument of "location". I called "her" out, when she used to post as Simple Game, but she was more evasive than good ole' Pepe, when cornered.

I had plenty of go arounds with Simple Game, some friendly, some not, and you could have fooled me by telling me SG was a female. I still find it hard to belive. but who knows?

but i still think its a good idea for MODS. to state the reason and length of a ban.....(obviously i missed the part about SPIVE being banned)

I should say that I totally disagree with the suspension of SPIVE. She may have asked nitpicky questions and maybe too many, but there was nothing rude or offensive or uncultured or anything. On the contrary, it was well written, well researched, intelligent and informative.

The beauty of an open forum is to have a way to get to the information that's important but not glaring at you from the ads. It is also capable of finding the truth without having to force things.

The way I see it, either the questions (or the nitpicking) is in the general interest of Rx readers or it is not.

If it is, then to suspend someone for that is to punish the whole readership.

If it is not, then that can be made clear by asking appropriate questions and getting that element out in the open as well. Once that is done, the sportsbook will no longer be obligated to respond, and no one will think badly of them for ignoring the nitpicker. He can politely say that he has other priorities or something.

Just post a question to the forum such as: "Is it just me, or is anyone else interested in SPIVE's questions? Seems a bit nitpicky to me." Then from the responses it will become apparent how to proceed. Force should only be reserved for undue and unrelenting profanity, personal insults and other serious breaches of etiquette IMO.
