guys lets get some clarification on "watch dog" sites that give their recommendation of offshore sports books.....

so far OSGA and SBR are getting bashed...

for a newbie that basis opening an account at a offshore book by what a sight recommends this can discouraging....

i think it would be a good idea to list the sites that arent puppets for some books
and are truly unbiased (if any).....

jjgold,

start at the top of the 300 book grading and work down with any book getting a B or higher and many are linked with an affiliate code. last time i checked, using one of those meant you got either flat revenue, % of losses or % or turn-over.

By definition there probably isn't a pure watchdog site. Hard to look over a flock who is feeding you on the side. Of course that does not mean these sites have no value IMO. The information is good and it can steer you out of some of the trouble areas if you pay attention. Also I can't count how many people and situations a site like this has assisted players. I never liked the term watchdog site but overall these sites are a big plus for the players.....

The posters on a watchdog site are the bloodline to its success...

These sites are only as good as its posting talent...

If you find a forum where you know certain people are credible, then look to them for information and advice...

Shrink and Pat,

Both of you hit the nail on the head. That's why it's important for you all to keep the unwarranted shit slinging to a minimum. Anytime people are conducting business there are going to be differences and disputes. Sorting through these is what these forums can do best. But letting posters bash books because they tried to past post, got caught and then are pissed about it just defeats y'alls efforts. Banning posters is counter productive to a site's traffic but allowing unwarranted attacks is also counter productive.

I think the posters of this site are extremely unbiased for the most part and will tell it like it is. IMO They make this site be what it is.

Thought about it as I know McIrsh has,but Have not figured out a way to fund it without the appearance of compromising one's self. Only way I can think of to do it is funding through its members , and I don't think that business model will work long term.

You can learn from all forums......just frequent them all often so you know how to weed through all the BS and double-standards. Some forums are notorious for this. But I find all forums very usual in one way or another and every offshore gambler should use them in their arsenal. Good luck batforumites.

GUYS..put yourself in a newbies shoes, you have always like to wager, but you have never bet offshore, and know little about the process, but ready to get your feet wet

what do you do??

you start doing your research...trying to find out what offshore books are the best, sooner or later your going to stumble on a "watchdog site" singing the praises of various books......

now comes the confusing part "watchdog site #1" praises sportsbook x, while "watch dog site #2" says stay away...whom do you believe????

Newbie reads so many reports that contradict, he says the hell with it..........

its human nature to want to believe "some elses opinion"

hopefully that opinion is accurate...

no... I have never seen a real non-profit site. But at least there are some decent resources out there for players.

Can you imagine if there was no Rx ,MW or SBR? They at least tell you who the best books are. Players who know about these sites and still get stiffed have no one to blame but themself.

Some very good opinions here. I am just thankful that we have what we have.

It is certainly better than nothing. I like to think that most any questions about sportsbooks here will be answered honestly and that shills/agendas can be exposed before we allow those agendas to do harm.
