SALT LAKE CITY - The security chief for the 2002 Winter Olympics (news - web sites) was pickpocketed in Moscow while he attended the Moscow-Utah Youth Games.

Robert Flowers said he thinks the thieves grabbed his wallet while he was on the subway near the Kremlin, the newspaper Desert Morning News reported Tuesday. He was jostled by at least four people and shoved out of the subway car right before the doors shut and the car left.

Two hours later, Flowers learned that the thieves had taken about $100 in cash and run up about $15,000 in charges for food and cosmetics on a credit card.

"They're good at what they do," said Flowers, who is now the co-chief of security for the youth games. "They really worked me over. But the whole thing is kind of embarrassing."
