I think this is the first time this question is asked.... and yes I know it has nothing to do with betting or complaining about betting (etc etc etc) and yes I know real men dont have fishtanks (before someone tells me that) LOL but do any of you have a fishtank at home?

well, I have some questions.....

Kat just got me the tank for my bday, I had one like 10 years ago so dont really remember much and then they werent as advanced as they are now....

Is there any real way of measuring how much food I should be throwing in there? Its just seems like so little.....keeps me wanting to throw more in there....

Think it's something like if they can't eat it all in 3 mins you overfed them.

Or simply watch them, are they getting fatter

Cannot comprehend why anyone would have animals in their home, they belong in the woods period and fish belong in the sea.

thats the problem though ive heard everything from 1 to 2 to 3 minutes.... its driving me crazy and they all attack the top in such a frenzy that its scaring the crap out of me thinking I might be feeding them too little...

so then I feed em more and feel better but Ive heard that it can kill em in a hurry like that...

JJ, Im sure they like it, the things prettier than any river or stream around here

They will eat as much as you give them! It is nearlly impossible to starve fish in a tank. Overfeeding is the problem with 90% of fish tank mortality.

Get yourself a simple test kit and check the water weekly for amonia. A high level indicates either overfeeding and/or poor filtration.

Ph balance is also important, but very secondary to nitrogen level.

I have been told that larger (30 - 55 gal) tanks are easier to maintain.

Hope this helps!!

I have two 50 gallon tanks. They're not hard to maintain... just don't over feed or over crowd the tanks.
