i'd take a shot here with "YES" for i think the DA and all involved will look really stupid if they put kobe thru all this crap and then don't file any charges (not that they don't look like morons now).

i also sense they MUST do something by friday for they can't let this thing drag out another week.

i think they WILL charge him here - they almost have to!

having said that - as i have been saying ever since word first got out - kobe NEVER gets convicted and this case NEVER makes it to trial (i might have said he wouldn't get charged - but i am certain the latter 2 will never happen).

No way....that line is moving the right direction. Locally, they are already talking next week-and it still sounds like there WILL be charges filed.

If he is charged with a sex crime there is no choice but trial - Kobe will not take a plea to something less because that is an admission of guilt and would destroy his name - this is criminal law - this is a not a civil lawsuit - there is no such thing as paying the victim off in a criminal case - this is the State of Colorado v. Kobe - not the alleged rape victim v. Kobe - the victim is merely a witness for the state if they charge him - if she chooses to sue him personally for damages then Kobe could reach a settlement with her and the CIVIL CASE could avoid trial.

The State could charge him, prepare for trial, and then feel there case does not have merit or is too weak and drop all charges and this would avoid a trial BUT THERE IS NOT WAY KOBE WOULD AVOID TRIAL BY PLEADING GUILTY TO A LESSER CRIME AND I DOUBT THE STATE WOULD OFFER A PLEA.

Information from the DA in Colorado is that there will be no decision on Thur. That means you are betting will Kobe be charged on Fri. July 18. I believe he will be charged but I don't think I want to bet on the exact day.

after thinking this over some - TT is somewhat right. the DA has already said they will give the media 24 hours notice before they make an announcement so everyone can be there. this means that unless they announce something thursday they won't do anything friday. with this in mind - WAIT! if something happens thursday - go for "yes" while if nothing happens thursday - POUND "no"

Sheriffs did a great job by- passing this coward DA. Im tired of listing to Xtra sports radio and have feminine kiss asses like Jim Rome stick up for this rapist.

I am starting to think Canada has the right idea in trying to prevent these zoos from happening. Up there if the media gets even the slightest bit interested in what is going on the judge can just lock down all information getting out. After all who knows anymore what the real evidence is and what is just rumor? The man will get his day in court if charged and until then the posturing and speculation is ridiculous and should be stopped. I mean the way it is going now you get all these people saying exactly what posters are saying "the DA needs to do this because of this" or "the charges have to be by this day because of this". Is this really carrying out justice to do things based on what corner someone might have gotten "backed into"?

Well, they are now saying that the announcement will "most likely" be Friday OR Monday....given that, I'd have to say that there is indeed value in the yes.

EvilD, that's about the stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone post on a forum....idiot.

Pretty disappointed a class outfit like Carib would put up a prop like that. This case is about a women accusing a man of rape, a little to serious of an offense to be offering it as a prop bet. I would'nt be at all suprised if Carib removed it because they relised it was done in bad taste.

It's even worse than the amount of crashes in a NASCAR race. Had to love the guys watching the race yelling CRASH, CRASH.
