a guy i talk to on instant message told me he heard they are trying to set up a fight between these two. i cant believe jones is that arrogant that he thinks he has any business in the same ring with tyson. even an older washed up tyson has way too much power for jones.

Not if Tyson can't hit him

That would be a great fight, Jones would almost certainly win on points, but the crowd will be holding their breath waiting to see if Tyson can fit him good once and see what happens if he does. Hey why not if you are Roy Jr., what else are you going to do?

i dont think this fight will actually happen. jones wont be able to avoid tyson for the entire fight and tyson has way too much power. also lets not forget that tyson isnt a turtle or nothin. even now he is pretty damn fast. i dont see jones making it more than 4 rounds.
but like i said, jones wont agree to this fight. he likes winning.

As much as I'd love to see it, it still looks like a longshot as far as making it happen.

Tyson would get beat up like a red headed stepchild.

If it was a motivated Tyson I have to go with him if the fight was a pick. I like Jones as he's a Florida boy but Tyson would be just too much IMO.

Jones has no one left to fight and winning and picking up a few hundred grand won't cut it when there is $10 million with your name on it if you fight Tyson. That is all that matters here. Jones doesn't have a career or reputation to protect, its all just about to end unless he can beat Tyson. I don't think Tyson is that good anymore and he really wouldn't need to be sharp to get Jones good. Not to mention Jones can take a punch or two, its just a question on if he take a really clean big punch which could knock him out right away or get him in trouble so Tyson could jump him. Up until that point Tyson would be getting his butt kicked on points so it would be an all or nothing spot and I think Tyson could get easily frustrated with a guy like this and make a lot of mistakes.

you could be right bill. i wouldnt be surprised to see tyson take the fight to lightly also. but it still wouldnt change anything. tyson would catch him eventually.

Did you guys watch Tyson against Lennox Lewis?
As bad as he looked he is now a year older and we know he is not wiser.

I give Jones a good shot in this spot. He would come in motivated and would be looking at a HUGE check for his next fight if he wins.

Tyson has diminished skills and shows no desire to be half the fighter he once was.

All that said, Tyson <could> take him out with one or two big shots.

My dough goes on Jr plus the juice.

I would take Jones in a second.

Tyson is too slow to beat the average Heavyweight, you really think he lands one solid shot on Jones??? lol

O.k., i hope if it does come off, and i think it will, i really hope all of the Tyson backers jump all over Tyson.

Exactly...If Jones doesn't win by a lopsided, easy decision, he will win because Tyson go's nuts, and gets dq'd mid rounds.

No, the fight won't happen. Roy Jones won't fight anyone that could possibly hurt him and even though Tyson is a shot fighter and has no desire to fight anymore, he can still punch and if he caught Jones with one shot then it's lights out for Roy Jones. Tyson still needs the money but he can get that fighting tomato cans.

I don't get what everyone thinks Jones would be trying to protect. He has no one left to fight and there is no money just sitting out there for him to get. He basically has made the statement that until he is done he will probably be fighting Heavys just because there is nothing left to accomplish in his class. And this whole concept of Tyson crushing Jones if he just catches him is crazy. He needs to catch him GOOD, not just some random punch is going to get him. Jones isn't some 150 pound guy out there and Tyson isn't Lennox Lewis.

I think it probably will happen but maybe they try to hype it up a bit more with Jones knocking out some tailor made heavy beforehand. This has the makings of a big money fight, something that outside of De La Hoya just doesn't really exist right now. No one wants to watch Lewis and no one good really wants to fight Tyson.

I wonder what the line on this would be? I'm not sure what Jones weighs if he's free to put on whatever he wants but I would think the line would be something like:
Jones -240
Tyson+180

btw, this would be one I'd bet the ranch on. This is a Jones 1st round TKO job. Tyson would just simply not be able to protect himself against this much speed to avoid being TKO'd.
