If you're not typically late you should be fine. Just threaten to close your account.

you can get all of it back if you really bitch. as long as it was your first one.
 
i told my card that if they dont drop the fee that i will never give them a dime...they dropped the fee

Tell the CS rep "thank you very much, but I have not achieved a satisfactory resolution to my issue. I appreciate all of your efforts, but may I please speak with a manager".
The manager, assuming you have not been late before, should waive the fee. The CS rep most likely doesn't have that authority.

Don't be late, credit is one of the most important assets to have. Trust me.

Next time when seeking a full refund on a late fee just tell them that you will transfer balance to a lower interest rate card & then your gonna close your account. This always works for me.

I've had 3 late charges in my life & got all 3 waived ...

then again I have A+ credit, rarely carry a balance, do my banking with the same bank & threaten to cancel the card if they don't waive it
