Dear WSEX –

I have been a member and player at WSEX for about 5 years. I always recommend your sportsbook as being one of the most trustworthy and safest out there. I have always felt safe having money at your book and have been paid without question over and over again. I have followed your story in the media and Jay Cohens problems with the law. I used to love your book, but I will no longer be one of your customers.

The problem is the ridiculous vig that you hold. Maybe 5 years ago you could get away with it but these days with reduced shops like Pinnacle and Canbet – you are not only non-competitive, your lines are almost laughable. Let me give you an example – tomorrows Wimbledon final is –190 / +145 – THIS IS THE BIGGEST TENNIS MATCH OF THE YEAR! Pinnacle has a ten cent line. Venus and Serena are –270 / +200 – a 70 cent line! You regularly post 30 cent lines on all future and props bets – and very often hang lines like –600 / +350 – HUGE HOLDS and this is on football and mainstream sports.

Your interactives are fun but also there are huge holds there – when one team is –400 the other is +300. WHY?

My question is why? Why do you need to keep so much vig? Don’t you need to be competitive with other shops? Don’t you care about value conscience customers like me? I guess my biggest question is WHY SHOULD I BET AT WSEX? There are now several books that are easily as reputable as you, that offer more, better, cheaper lines with higher limits than you – so as a customer that wants to have a reason to bet with you PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT IS!

I hope to get a response to this but I am afraid that you just have your head in the sand on this issue. I hope you can make it in a climate where sports gamblers are becoming more and more educated and where competition demands value for the player.

WSEX is just another book that pays. Fortunately, there are alot of books that pay. I have had so many accounts over the last 2 years and I have never put in a single wager here because they basically have nothing to offer.

I did here they take 10 dimes on NFL games without a blink but I don't play 10 dimes a game.

being a customer at wsex for such a time, you should have seen their front page,
no frills , no bells or whistles, kinda stuff, no major gifts and promotions, just straight wagering. Thats their thing, not its the greatest, but its their thing, If yoiu want to take a side, then take it, if you dont like it then leave it,
Do you go to Macy's and say, Hey, whats with these prices, I can get the same damn thing at the discount shop for much, much cheaper

Wsex is kinda like a clean hotel room. You might not get any room service, but you don't get any bed bugs either!!

Jabow - that is an interesting and fair assessment.

I would like to hear WSEX say that they are the "Macy's" of offshore betting. If that is their market and they are able to make it catering to that crowd more power to them. I guess what I am looking for is some response to tell me if there is a reason I should play there.

I don't see the relevance - do you seriously that if I got Venus +200 at Pin and somebody got her +150 at WSEX that they would be satisfied because "but my price is a wsex - it's in"?????

No, money is money. Anyone that pretends otherwise is a fool. I think this is a GREAT thread because I like WSEX, but I refuse to waste money ... maybe if they hear it from everyone they'll step up and be a bit more competitive?

Otherwise, as the average offshore player gets wiser & wiser they're likely to see MORE punters leave for better value shops.

this place is really in trouble. I used to play at WSEX but gave up do to the bad lines and juice on every single wager, there was no reason to even take the time to have a glance on lines. so I quit the sportsbook But I did last summer play i(for 3 months) in their poker rooms which were filled with 100 players at a time except early morning.

I quit poker for 9 months and just in the past 5 days have posted up some money at WSEX to play some poker again. WOW what a difference!!! There is almonst nobdy there even in peak times. There is 2-3 tables gonig and not full, no Large stakes games (they used to have 50-100 100-200 tables going and active, Id just watch those).

Id say WSEX sportsbook has pissed so many off and now the POKER room is also a thing of the past. This place needs help fast.

They post their own lines in Nascar, F1 and horseracing MUS. They offer interactives, where anyone and everyone is invited. Their poker room is always trying innovative promos,lastly they are first rate professionals.

I don't bet MLB but they post a dime line and their spreads aren;t ususally middle of the road either.

Lander - your sentiments are my sentiments exactly. I LIKE WSEX. I want to like wsex. I am begging for a reason to bet there. The hope with this thread is that they hear something they havent thought of before and change.

Trytry - i have had the same experience with their poker - it is unplayable now.

Sodium - Everyone has nascar and F1 with lower holds. I dont know a thing about horseracing. Tradesports offers interactives at less than half the hold - and let me say something about interactives, ever try to buy or sell more than about 30 shares? Cant do it. They raise the price on you. So you go to buy a golfer at 4 bucks and you want to buy a hundred shares (400 dollars worth) and you have to buy 30 at 4, 40 at 5, and 30 at 6. THAT BLOWS. They are trying innovative promos because they are losing business.

WSEX is a must out. They are not a clone shop which means opinionated lines. So if you choose not to play there you are only hurting yourself. I will say I make quite a bit of my plays at Pinnacle because their lines are more player friendly.

Sodium - im not a nascar fan so i decided to look at todays race at pinnacle and WSEX. Unless you like Jimmy Johnson - EVERY SINGLE BET IS BETTER AT PINNACLE. Now that sucks.

It's the plain consistency across sports that WSEX gets beaten on, most especially by Pinnacle, that makes WSEX so unattractive. Where does one want to keep a good balance - where one expects to get upwards of 80-90% of the best of it, or at an otherwise good place that doesn't?

Pinnacle has made other shops progressively compete on price - it's hard to imagine a pro out there who does not have a significant account at Pinnacle. Other books may never have gone to MLB dime lines without that kind of competition - so kudos to Pinnacle and here's hoping WSEX looks to improve.

Maybe I'm a square but I find lots of value at playing at WSEX. Them moving baseball by 5 cents sometimes gives a better line than pinnacle, also last year getting fball games on 3 at -110 when others would have them at -120/-125 (which may change this year, something with software not letting them change the juice) Also the added bonus of never having to worry about not getting paid.

Also its pretty simple why Pinnacle is able to offer lower juice, they write SOOO much more action. It scares me that some books think they can compete when they aren't writing as much.
