Reason I ask is we fight all the time about this on another board. Never come to any final conclusions. Some swear golfers are not athletes. Some say deer hunting is a sport. Some say billiards is a sport. Some say only things like baseball, football, hoops etc.....are sports and the rest are only hobbies. Are those spelling bee people athletes? Is darts a sport? Pool? Hotdog eating? Frisbee throwing? Archery? Curling? Weightlifting? Is fishing a sport? If so are fishermen athletes? All a bunch of confusion....

Seriously I wonder if there is a set definition for what is a sport and what is a "hobby"? And what sports are played by athletes? One in particular is NASCAR, roughly half think the drivers are athletes, the other half think not.
