"Great Bonuses! 20% Re-load bonus on Direct Bank Transfer!"

How can a Book make $$ while giving 20% bonuses on *ALL* re-ups ?

Was talkin' to my Local Guy about this 20% bonus on ALL Re-up thing...

He said *he* could not make a go of it using 10c baseball lines. He went on to say, no one could make it work (20% & 10c lines) in the long-run.

I guess we'll see...

some things to consider are is the 20% reup going to be around for "the long run". and also, what is being done with the post up money while the book is holding it. they may be making money off of that money. just putting it into cd's would be added profit to make something like this work.

i dont have the insight to offer in regards of what books do with post up money while they are holding it, but it does seem to me that the big shops out there must be doing something with that money to add to their profits.

frank,

the "math boys" dont know what is being done with the money while it is being held.

if the book is making say.... 10% on all money they are holding somehow, than this bonus deal would work fine. FOREVER.

im sure your "math boys" arent taking any of that into account.

But no bookie will come into this thread and say 20%/10c is a working plan!

Would like to read what folks like JudgeW would say...

has nothing to do with it. whether or not that bonus plan will work is not really within my realm of knowelege. i am not claiming that it will work.

i will say that i believe there ARE possible ways to make it work.

i think a lot of things would have to be factored in to see if this would possibly work or not.

a couple that come to mind are the ones i already mentioned,

the max bonus...
number of players that arent even getting the bonus...
the amount of money the book is holding, and how much they are making off of that money.

ok, and since you are claiming that it won't work, can you tell me what you factored in to come to your conclusion?

RPM:

When you have to speculate on some investment that a book may / may not be making with the post-up funds, in order to justify the numbers, then it's time to bail.

RPM, I'm not a 'math boy' but it is pure numbers why it wont work. Folks whom I trust (math boys) tell me it wont work.

Besides, even if they are making 10%

per year, the Rx bonus vultures (you know: BSKiller & his "brother", oldfriend, 50 others who post, 500 others who just read and scan for bonus offers, etc) are in and out in less than a week.

hali,

im not really speculating. if any of these offshores are holding hundreds of thousands of dollars (and probably millions in some cases) and they arent using it in some way to make money, they are fools.

maximizing profits is what its all about in any business

frank,

i just dont understand how anyone with no access to a specific books accounting would be able to figure if a bonus program would work or not.

people said betworks giving away free $50 accounts wouldnt work too.

worked out fine for them.

RPM, I hope you are correct... for the players at BoDog sake. They remind me of the dot.coms of the 90s

btw, max reup bonus is $400 with direct bank transfer and $200 with western union. limiting bonus amounts is one of the ways to make a program like this work.

With a dime line, their 20% re-up, 5X rollover is generally a money loser.
--------------------------------

On a dime line (-105/-105), or in decimal form (1.952/1.952), there is a 2.40% theoretical hold on each bet. Example: bet 50 on each of the two teams - one bet loses $50, while the other bet wins $47.60 - the house keeps $2.40 vig on $100 of risk money
-------------------------------

Deposit 1,000 + 200 Bonus = 1200 Cash
1200 x 5 = 6000 Rollover Required

Theoretically, how much of The $1200 will be left after 5X rollover (given the 2.4% vig):

$6,000 x 2.4% = $144 vig lost on $6,000 of action

---------------------------

Deposit $1,000
Collect Bonus
Rollover 5X
Withdraw $1,200 - 144 = $1,056
$56 Loss to BoDog (5.6%)

This does not include any overhead / marketing costs
----------------

Obviously, a lot of people will leave their money in long after the rollover is satisfied, but a lot won't.

hali,

check your math. it makes no sense. you have the person depositing $1000 getting a $200 bonus, and then withdrawing $5300.

you are assuming quite a nice winning run i take it?
