Jesus searched throughout the town of Jerusalem for a new robe. At every shop he visited, he was greeted well and treated with respect. "oh, Jesus. You need a new robe, I can make one for you for very little money" but alas Jesus had no money to pay. "I'm sorry Jesus, but the material will cost me money, I can give you my labor for free, but I have no funds to buy the cloth." This was the answer Jesus received at every robe shop in town.
Then Jesus stepped through the doorway of a small dusty shop owned by Esakiah. "Oh, Jesus! You need a new robe. I'll make one for you right now."
"My son. I have no money to pay." Jesus replied.
"Money? Jesus needs no money here. You just tell people how great your new robe is and that you got it from me: Esakiah the maker of the best robes in town!"
So off Jesus went with his new robe. He preached the gospel and told the people about his robe and how nicely it fit and how fine the cloth was. And that everyone should buy a new robe from Esakiah.
After a few weeks Jesus saw a large crowd in the streets and he noticed it was outside of Esakiahs shop. Jesus pushed through the crowd and made his way to Esakiah.
"oh Jesus! There you are! You are doing a great job!"
"yes my son, I see that business has picked up."
"Oh yes Jesus, I owe it all to you. In fact I am changing the sign out front to say, Esakiah & Jesus Fine Robes"
"hmmm, don't you think you should mention the messiahs name before your own? Maybe Jesus and Esakiah Fine Robes?"
Jesus and Esakiah argued for a few hours about the name until they finally came to a compromise... and you can still see that sign today and you can still purchase fine clothes from the same company that was founded by Jesus and Esakiah. Except today you will have to look for a store named LORD & TAILOR.
Tomorrow I'll tell the story of Jesus the Carpenter and Black & Decker
