Kind of cool. Just poking through accounts I don't use much for bases and I found $713 I didn't know I had. Reminds me of finding money in the wash. Nothing is sweeter than finding three $100 bills folded up nice and crispy in your pocket after being washed and dried.

$713 dollars, wow!! You must have thousands in obscure books and do not even know it. I always knew you had lots of cash floating around and I bet you throw nickles around like water when you go to go go bars and pool halls. I wish i had your bankroll because i would retire now.

Coming from someone who advocates bookkeeping to the degree you do, I am VERY surprised to learn you found 'found' money at a book.

Nice find, buddy. Now take your wife out for a romantic dinner.

Wow Patrick

Last thing I found in the wash was a phone number for my ex wife - she took more than 150K from me - does that count for somethin??

Doc - Actually the records I was talking about are more designed from the handicapping end of it than the actual blances in the books. For some reason I can get sloppy there, especially on the post up side of it. No excuse for it just being honest.

JJ - I don't have much of a bankroll by your standards. I have about 1/10th of what your friend Fishhead flashes around.

I'm just joshing with you. I use an excel program that delineates balances, net profits, etc by book. The last tab is a cumulative sum (hopefully in black) of all my offshore accounts.

With dozens and dozens of active accounts it really pays to know which books you're heavy or light at with just a glance.

Great thread and I agree especially when you have a lot of accounts you use for all different things. This happened to me in the past and I was happy but very mad at myself.

Code - I forgot about that! Now that I think about it most of it is from Lenny. He said if I sided against Beaner he would send me some bonus money and $10 matchplays. LMAO! I hope Beaner doesn't find out.

Doc - I knew you were messing around. I agree though, no excuse for not having exact records on anything related to gambling. The credit accounts are kept real meticulously, especially the locals as I have no copy on the computer of my plays. The post up books have a record of everything so if the balance is low in some of these I don't keep up with them down to the penny. I see in this case most of it came from me throwing some change at the Spurs to win the title. If I end up making a play and have some odd change I will sometime bet it and not even write it down. Especially an account that is not real active that time of the year. May move some money in there just to make a certain play and throw the odd dollars after a 6 team parlay or something.....

McIrish,

How big of a player are you? What is your average play so this dollar amount will be relative?

Chalkman - Not a big player by any standard. I would say I'm on the smaller end of being an average size player.

I found $575 in one book WELL into football season last year. It was a book that i had stopped using for a few months and then I went there to check lines. Well it turns out that in one of my baseball games were I listed the pitchers, WELL LO AND BEHOLD, the starting pitcher didnt pitch and I had given up on the game I guess. I have to assume that is what i did since I checked the bet and one game was no action. I then brought that amount to $2000 and withdrew all of it since I no longer was going to use that book.
